[BREITBART] A New York City driver who was out on bail for allegedly committing attempted murder was caught dragging a police officer with his car Friday, according to a video.
The video, released by the New York Police Department (NYPD), showed the officer conducting a routine traffic stop. When the officers determined the driver was unfit to operate a motor vehicle, they asked him to step out of the vehicle.
At that point, the suspect placed the car in reverse, running over the officer who stopped him, according to the video.
The suspect, identified as Takim Newson, was driving in Brooklyn when the NYPD stopped him for being double-parked and having tinted windows, the police told Fox News.
The NYPD said Newson (pictured) was slurring his speech and admitted to smoking marijuana before the officers stopped him.
The officer suffered minor injuries, including bumps and bruises on his legs and back pain. He received treatment at a local hospital and was then released.
The 32-year-old suspect then allegedly broke into a Queens home and threatened a 66-year-old woman by pretending he was armed.
After the alleged burglary, Newson then carjacked a Jaguar sedan, police said.
Police later arrested him in Suffolk County, Long Island, after the stolen car’s license plates triggered a license plate reader, the New York Post reported.
In addition to the attempted murder charge, Newson also faces charges of burglary and assault on a police officer, police said.
Newson was arrested this month on attempted murder charges at his mother’s home in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, after he fled New York City for allegedly attempting to rob a bar and shoot a person in the groin on Valentine’s Day.
Prosecutors ordered that he be held in jug pending trial, but a judge released him without bond despite Newson’s lawyer requesting a $50,000 bond.

Carjacking a Jaguar sedan pretending to be armed I can understand. But threatening to shoot someone in the groin on Valentine's should be heinous crime. The poor bastard won't get it up all week after.
[NYPOST] A retired NYPD officer in the "wrong place at the wrong time" was one of 14 people shot Saturday amid a rash of gun violence in the Big Apple, police sources told The Post.
The 30-year-old former cop was leaving a party in Red Hook, Brooklyn around 11:30 p.m. when she heard gunshots and realized she’d been hit three times in the torso, sources said.
Cops believe the shots came from a group of men who began brawling after they were denied entry to the bash.
"She just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and took a slug in the stomach," a source said.
The perps expeditiously departed at a goodly pace at 160 Van Brunt Street, where five shell casings were later recovered. The address is shared by a a Tesla dealership and an event space called The View Rooftop, which confirmed they had a private event there Saturday.
The retired cop, who left the force in 2019 after seven years on the job, was taken to Methodist Hospital, where she remained in stable, pH balanced condition on Sunday. No arrests had been made as of Sunday evening.
Shots rang out in 14 separate incidents across the city on Saturday and into early Sunday, according to police.
One of the 15 victims that were maimed — an 18-year-old from the Bronx — died.
Jamiek Bishop, a suspected gang member, was shot in the face, chest and right shoulder at around 11 p.m., while he was on his stoop at East 224th Street between Bronxwood and Paulding Avenues, police said. He was taken to Jacobi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He's dead, Jim!

Ever notice how people in the news lately seem to have a lot of priors? I'm willing to stipulate that throwing people in jail for crimes they commit is racist and homophobic and whatever, but putting people in jug is not just about punishment. It also takes them out of circulation for a while and gives the rest of us a respite from their misbehavior.
[FoxNews] Elizabeth City, N.C. officials declared a state of emergency Monday ahead of the possible public release of body camera footage of the fatal shooting of Andrew Brown Jr. during a drug-related warrant executed by sheriff’s deputies last week.
Brown's family and their attorneys will privately be shown the video at the Pasquotank County Sheriff’s Office at 11:30 a.m. ET Monday and will hold a news conference immediately following. Ben Crump, the high-profile civil rights attorney who secured the $27 million civil lawsuit in Minneapolis for the family of George Floyd, as well as attorneys Harry Daniels, Bakari Sellers and Brown's relatives, will be present.
Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools will operate on a full remote schedule for all students and staff through Friday "due to the continuously evolving state of civil unrest in our local community and under the advisement of our local law enforcement partners."

It has become more than a cottage business. Ben Crump is on a roll. This same guy, Attorney Ben Crump showed up in Knoxville recently after a school shooting. See: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/civil-rights-attorney-ben-crump-to-knox-county-leaders-be-responsive-to-the-outrage/ar-BB1g3Vml?ocid=uxbndlbing
Crump got $27 mil for the George Floyd family in a civil case. Attorney advertising becomes free at that point.

Strange, he doesn't look white. He does seem to comply with NY COVID-19 mask mandates. Looks like a know-nothing jerk-off kid with a manufactured grudge.

It didn't seem the right was having much success in mastering Alinsky tactics until the left turned it into a game. Now the horse is well out of the barn.

I can't speak to the black experience of being stopped by police. But I have to wonder that regardless of ethnicity when you find yourself surrounded by a small herd of cops and your vehicle is blocked, your first concern maybe ought extend past the potentially viral nature of the video.
Or, maybe some segment of the population just lives without consequences.

What is being vilified as racism is to me just a healthy prejudice against a recidivist, hostile culture that has been embraced willingly by a section of black people. And probably everyone with dark skin pays for it in some way.
Today, the pols, hollywood [obviously with gangsta money in it], the entertainment industry and the idiot MSM have effectively worked on the hostility, enhancing it to murderous levels.
In a society so divided, it is not fair that only side gets to hate and detest the other. Survival depends on a healthy prejudice against those that are compulsively inclined to harm you. It got us through evolution, but then some... fuckers... came along and taught us 'social rights', and that they were even for your predators as much as for you.

Dron, my theory is that when a population has been too comfortable for too long, sheltered from hardship and danger, it could be that survival instincts are dulled so that some people don't recognize danger when it's staring them in the face and even if they did they wouldn't know what to do about it.

The cops got there too late, so the young folks were able to have a nice enjoyable knife fight without any police intervention. A couple of them may die, though.
[Standard] Four teenage boys have been arrested after a 16-year-old girl was left ’fighting for her life’ in a double stabbing in south London.
Two girls, aged 16 and 17, were found suffering from stab injuries by officers and an ambulance crew.
The victims, who were known to each other, were rushed to hospital after an air ambulance landed.
The 16 year old is being treated for life-threatening injuries, police have confirmed.
Detective Sergeant Rob Merrett, Central South Command Unit, said: "This is a shocking incident involving two young female victims, one of whom remains seriously ill in hospital. It has understandably caused considerable alarm in the community.
"Officers responded immediately when the 999 call was received. Two boys were quickly apprehended near the scene, and urgent enquiries led to two other males being arrested later on at addresses in Lambeth.

Hmmmm Methinks some Allu SnackBar shouting is involved

The Russian Ministry of Education will analyze all school history textbooks, Education Minister Sergei Kravtsov said on the Russia 1 TV channel, Meduza writes.
"We will now conduct a complete analysis of all textbooks," said Kravtsov.
On April 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during his address to the Federal Assembly, said that in some school textbooks he was surprised to find "that there seems to be nothing written about us."
As an example, he cited a textbook that did not mention the Battle of Stalingrad. "Who writes, who misses such textbooks? It's amazing!" Putin said.
In March, it became known that the Ministry of Education had approved a series of textbooks on Russian and general history edited by Vladimir Medinsky, aide to the President of the Russian Federation, chairman of the Russian Military History Society, who had been criticized earlier for the quality of his doctoral dissertation in history.
Let us remind you that Putin decided to make the first days of May a weekend in Russia.
[Epoch Times] A McDonald’s franchise owner in Tampa, Florida, said he is paying people $50 just to show up for a job interview and is still struggling to find applicants.
"At this point, if we can’t keep our drive-thrus moving, then I’ll pay $50 for an interview," said Casper, who owns 60 McDonald’s restaurants around Tampa.
The Epoch Times has contacted McDonald’s for comment.
Casper said that the enhanced federal unemployment benefits that were extended after Congress passed a sweeping pandemic relief bill may be contributing to the lack of people seeking jobs. Speculating further, he said that more businesses at the moment are looking to hire.
"You’ve got a lot of people with a lot of money, and they’re out there shopping," he added. "And then, on the flip side, we’re scrambling for help."
The National Federation of Independent Business group said that a survey found that 42 percent of small businesses have said they had job openings they couldn't fill, also blaming the expanded unemployment benefits for the phenomenon.
"Owners continue to have difficulty finding qualified workers to fill jobs as they compete with increased unemployment benefits and the pandemic keeping some workers out of the labor force," according to the survey. "A net 28 percent of owners reported raising compensation (up three points) and the highest level in the past 12 months." Thus raising the minimum wage by the back door, making small businesses pay the price, who will pass it along to the consumer, of course, contributing to inflation.

The effort to convince people to "vote for me and you are entitled" is ruining the work ethic and self sufficiency mind set. And when the government can't support the entitled weaning these free loaders off the broke social programs will be hell to pay.
At these restaurants you get a paycheck, discount of food, clothing in the form of uniforms, favorable car loan qualifications for being employed.

The company I worked for had three places for new hires and I was the supervisor of one of them. When seeing if "untrained n00bs" were worthy of more important jobs there were two types of people I preferred: farmer kids and former military.
Both knew what work was and both had been exposed to "work that sucks". Finally they had the balls to look me in the eye and say "This isn't enough pay for me and I'm leaving when I clock out tonight!" instead of sneaking off into the night on a cigarette break.
City kids would say things like: "You expect me to do that!?!"

Jives with a lot I've been hearing, especially factoring in bonuses for kids, savings on daycare, doing paid in cash only jobs.
More so for those living in No Eviction Zones, and those taking the risk of student debt forgiveness no longer paying on that tab.
No longer have to wake up in the morning, deal with work people or problems, do the Covid dance, all that stress gone, increasing the value of fk'it.
The long term effects will be the children not learning a culture of working for results. I'm sure everyone has a story of the smart kid who graduated and had problems after high school because s/he didn't have to study, work, for good grades. More so if the parents enjoy mixing their funemployment with being not-sober.
[SHAFAQ] The Supreme Judicial Council in Iraq announced arresting the director of Ibn Khatib Hospital and a number of hospital employees.
A statement by the Supreme Judicial Council said that al-Rusafa Investigation Court took legal measures following the Ibn Khatib incident, in which dozens were killed.
The court, as by the statement, decided to detain the hospital director until the investigation is completed.
Earlier today, The Cabinet decided to grant an amount of ten million dinars to the families of each victim of the tragedy of Ibn al-Khatib Hospital.
During an extraordinary session held by PM Mustafa al-Kadhimi, the council assigned, according to a statement by his office, "the legal department in the General Secretariat of the Council to prepare a draft law regarding the victims of the tragedy (deaders), and refer it to the council of Representatives."
The Iraqi Prime Minister also suspended three bigwigs, including the Minister of Health and Environment Hasan al-Tamimi, in the aftermath of the Ibn Khatib incident in which at least 82 and 110 were maimed.
Al-Kadhimi appointed the Minister of Interior, Othman al-Ghanmi, to lead the investigation, with the Ministers of Planning and Justice on board, along with the Chief of the Commission of Integrity, head of the Federal Diwan of Financial oversight, and a representative of the Parliament as a spectator member.
Iraqis Blame Hospital Fire on Mismanagement and Corruption
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] The death of over 80 people in a Baghdad Covid-19 hospital fire was seen by Iraqis Sunday as more proof of the deadly consequences of mismanagement and corruption.
Iraqis, some of whom evacuated the injured themselves, blamed Health Minister Hassan al-Tamimi, who was suspended Sunday, with calls for him to be sacked resounding across social media.
The deadly inferno broke out overnight Sunday at Baghdad's Ibn al-Khatib hospital, blamed on poorly stored oxygen cylinders.
The interior ministry said 82 people were killed and 110 people injured, AFP reported.
An official with the Iraqi Human Rights Commission said 28 of those killed were patients who were taken off critical ventilators to escape the flames.
The evacuation was slow, painful and chaotic, with patients and their relatives crammed into stairwells as they scrambled for exits.
President Barham Saleh tweeted on Sunday "the tragedy at Ibn al-Khatib is the result of years of erosion of state institutions by corruption and mismanagement".
A doctor at the hospital said that "in the whole Covid intensive care unit, there were no emergency exits or fire prevention systems".
Witnesses and doctors told AFP many bodies had yet to be identified, the remains too charred by the intense flames.
These issues were raised in a 2017 public report on the Iraqi health sector, exhumed overnight in the wake of the fire by the country's human rights When they're defined by the state or an NGO they don't mean much... commission.
"It's mismanagement that killed these people," the doctor added, who, on condition of anonymity, angrily listed the hospital's many shortcomings.
"Managers walk around smoking in the hospital where oxygen cylinders are stored," he said. "Even in intensive care, there are always two or three friends or relatives at a patient's bedside."
And, he added, "this doesn't just happen at Ibn al-Khatib, it's like this in all the public hospitals".
"When equipment breaks down, our director tells us not to report it," said a nurse, in another hospital in Baghdad.
"He says it would give a bad image of his establishment, but in reality, we have nothing that works."
These institutions -- which until the 1980s were the pride of Iraq, known across the Arab world for its free, high quality public health services -- are now seen as an embarrassment by many.
Their equipment is outdated, staff are poorly trained and buildings crumbling.
In Iraq, the health sector only accounts for two percent of the budget, despite the country being one of the most oil-rich in the world.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Iraq only has 13 hospital beds and eight doctors for every 10,000 people. Forty years ago, there were 19 beds per person.
Al-Sadr hints at a possible ''act of sabotage'' in the Ibn Khatib hospital
[SHAFAQ] The leader of the Sadrist movement, Moqtada Tater al-Sadr ...hereditary Iraqi holy man and leader of a political movement in Iraq. He had his hereditary rival al-Khoei assassinated shortly after the holy rival's appearance out of exile in 2003. Formerly an Iranian catspaw, lately he's gagged over some of their more outlandish antics, then went back to catspawry... , warned on Sunday of an "electoral war," hinting at a possible "act of sabotage" in the Ibn Khatib hospital incident.
The Iraqi Prime Minister also suspended three bigwigs, including the Minister of Health and Environment Hasan al-Tamimi, in the aftermath of the Ibn Khatib incident in which at least 82 and 110 were maimed.
Al-Sadr said in his tweet, "I fear that this painful incident will be part of a series of incidents that serve some saboteurs to target the security of Iraq, especially as the elections approach amid their deteriorating popularity and chances of winning due to their non-national actions."
"Everyone should not involve the people and the innocent in a war they have nothing to do with ... The competition for elections is for their sake, their security, and even their dignity", he added.
He continued, "He (the Minister of Health) was negligent, so the Prime Minister should dismiss him, as he was the one who chose him among other independent ministries."
