[PJMedia] Via Washington Examiner, January 24, 2020:
Cindy McCain, the widow of late Sen. John McCain, blasted authorities who were "afraid" to arrest convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein even though everyone "knew" what he was doing.
"Epstein was hiding in plain sight," said Cindy McCain. "We all knew about him. We all knew what he was doing, but we had no one that was — no legal aspect that would go after him. They were afraid of him. For whatever reason, they were afraid of him." He had the goods on many, many people.
McCain’s comments came after she was questioned by an attendee during her appearance at the State of the World 2020 conference in Florida.
McCain said a girl from her daughter’s high school was one of Epstein’s victims and that she hopes Epstein "is in hell." More at the link.

Epstein is dead, the island is scrubbed. All they need is to wrap up his girlfriend, once they figure out how to deactivate the deadman switch.

He had very, very powerful friends, some of whom were victims of his blackmail and some of whom were his business partners and clients, certainly Swamp Partners and that pesky office complex in Jerusalem.

#3 He had the goods on many, many people.
In the end, it didn't do him much good, did it?

M. Murcek,
And this is what I still can't figure out. For all his twisted, perverted sociopathy, he was a smart dude...but he didn't seem to have a bolthole somewhere (Costa Rica would have welcomed him as long as he kept his head down, Dubai probably wouldn't have objected too loudly, there's a couple of Pacific islands he could have lived in quite comfortably, and none of those places have extradition treaties) and he didn't appear to have a dead man's switch.
Instead, he stayed where he could be reached by the Authorities, and ended up dangling from a light fixture in a cell.
Assuming, of course, he is dead. But that's another can of worms entirely.

Epstein chose to serve evil. He was convinced of his own value to their endeavors. He must have continued to believe that he had enough value to be rescued. It is also possible that he repented. It is conceivable that Epstein is still alive exploiting kids somewhere out of the public view. Most likely, though, Jefferey is dead, on a meat hook in torment. He possibly exchanged his eternal inheritance for some temporary jollies. Either he went out or will go out as the prodigal son or Faust.

[WND] Autogynephilia, or a man’s condition of being sexually aroused by the concept of himself as a woman, is a driving force behind male-to-female transgenderism, according to some experts, but activists and a leading transgender medical group have been reluctant to acknowledge the issue.
The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), the leading transgender medical organization, removed the term from its standards of care between 1998 and 2001, and proponents of the transgender movement have decried the term as inaccurate and stigmatizing.
Autogynephilia, or AGP, undercuts the narrative pushed by proponents of transgender ideology that gender transitions aren’t sexual, and a significant proportion of transgender people are heterosexual men who are sexually aroused when they present themselves as female and wear women’s clothing, researchers and transgender people have argued.
’FAIRYTALE VERSION’
AGP drives the overwhelming majority of male-to-female transsexual cases, according to Dr. Ray Blanchard, a Canadian psychiatry professor who coined the term in the late 1980s. Most of the pushback against the classification of AGP comes from transgender activists and their allies in the mental health field rather than from medical institutions, he said.

Before I got my MD I got my BS in chemistry. I ended my chemist career after reading about so many bad health outcomes of chemists going back to about 1860. Later I read a lot about toxicology. The human race has been living in toxic soup of new chemicals and their breakdown products for 150 years, more being introduced year by year. I estimate a great many health problems will eventually be identified as results of this toxic soup.

Gromble Dribble4342, when I started working in the lab, one of the older technicians explained to me that he expected to die young because of all the interesting chemicals they’d surrounded themselves with — as I recall they used to wash down the lab surfaces with benzene at the end of each day, a practice sometime discontinued by the time I arrived there in 1985. Incidentally, it is entirely too late for the gentleman in question to die young. ;-)
Marie Curie used to take a vacation when the effects of radiation became too much, then would go back to her work. Medieval peasants used to spread the contents of dungheap and outhouses on the fields as fertilizer, and drink from wells and rivers polluted by the runoff.
We’ve been immersed in unhealthy chemicals since cities were invented, despite dreams of a long-ago golden age of purity lived in balance with nature.
[FoxNews] "Real Time" host Bill Maher called out the lack of attention to high Black-on-Black crime rates in cities such as Chicago during his show on Friday.
Hosting a panel with Brown University economist Glenn Loury and international relations scholar Daniel Bessner, Maher questioned the rise in crime in major cities and why it has not been addressed.
"Like Chicago, most of the shootings are young Black men killing other young Black men. Is that not correct?" Maher asked.
After Loury confirmed it was true, Maher continued, "OK, much more than what the cops do. Why doesn't anybody talk about that? Why aren't there a hundred giant Black celebrities, who would have the respect of those people, saying, ‘What are you doing to yourselves? Why are you killing each other?’"
Loury similarly criticized the failure of Democrat politicians such as Chicago's Mayor-elect Brandon Johnson to address and properly handle crime in their cities.
Maher went on to criticize suggestions that more financial investment in the city would fix the issue.
"One in 3 children in America cannot read at a basic level of comprehension. Eight-five percent of Black students lack proficiency in reading skills," he said. "We already spent a lot of money on schools. So, are you going to keep telling me that more money will fix this because I feel like this is much more connected to the problems of people who can't read. Yes, they're going to have problems with gainful employment, and it seems like, you know, a lot of times the solutions that come from the left seem symbolic. They don't seem like we're addressing what really needs to be done, which is get kids learning, get them reading, get them to have a job."
"It doesn't seem like the money is getting to this problem if 85% of Black students lack proficiency in reading skills," he added. But the teachers and their Union still get paid
The Chicago Police Department reported that motor vehicle theft, aggravated battery, theft and murder have all increased since 2022. The department is also working to appoint a new superintendent after Interim Superintendent Eric Carter steps down on May 15.

I believe they should be left to their own devices. My only problem with their antics is when it spills over onto the innocent, as in the "joyriding" story above, or when it's used by gun-control screechers as a way to get media attention for their noxious agenda.

[Independent Sentinel] Ray Epps sat for a ’60 Minutes’ interview that aired Sunday night, and it didn’t sit well with Republicans. The show portrayed Epps as a victim who only stood out because he’s 6’4″. The host claimed the actions of Ray Epps were only a "conspiracy’ theory."
The 6’4″ victim blames Fox News and well-known conservatives for casting him as an organizer of January 6th. His actions were miniaturized. However, Epps took credit for orchestrating the riot! No one hatched that in some wild conspiracy.
’60 Minutes’ asks Ray Epps about texting a relative, "I orchestrated it," after leaving Jan. 6 Capitol riot, "I was boasting to my nephew. [...] I shouldn’t have used that word," Epps said.
He did orchestrate it on video.
Epps claimed there was an effort to make him a scapegoat, but he is the one who told people to enter the Capitol. It was Epps who said he "orchestrated it." Epps was also seen whispering in another man’s ear seconds before the man charged the gates with a mob for the first time. He was seen on video pushing a huge sign into police, possibly after he said he left the grounds.

He's had a couple years to practice his acting, probably with really good instructors, and the performance was scripted in collaboration with the CBS producers. Bill Whitaker read from his script and Ray performed.

^ Yep. Older brother Mundi was featured on 60 minutes during the PGE kerfuffle with Brockovich. His detailed account of the interview process and conduct by the 60 Minutes crew ripped the scales of my crusty eyes.

No mention of the video that shows him telling people to go into the capitol building. Not one question about why he was removed from the FBI's list of persons of interest or why he was on that list in the first place. But then that's CBS for you. Tucker is the only one asking those questions. Tucker wants answers but CBS only wants to sweep it all under the rug.

Epps and his crew rolled up the flimsy plastic fences that demarcated the no-go Capital Zones. There is film. This is criminal, and very easy to make it a felony.

A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
