Democrat resigns from Congress after her own colleagues turn on her for allegedly stealing $5m taxpayer dollars
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A Florida Democrat has resigned from Congress after allegedly stealing millions in COVID relief funds, some of which she is accused of spending on a glitzy ring.

Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, 46, was awaiting punishment after being accused of using millions that her family's health care company received during the pandemic to fuel her political campaign.

Last month, the bipartisan House Ethics Committee found that she had committed numerous violations of House rules and ethics standards, including the alleged theft of more than $5 million in taxpayer funds - part of which she is accused of spending on a flashy diamond ring.

The committee investigated 27 counts of 'violations' connected to the millions she's accused of funneling into her campaign and found 'substantial evidence' to support 'extensive misconduct.'

She was separately indicted by a federal grand jury in Miami in November and is awaiting trial. The ex-congresswoman denies the charges against her and pleaded not guilty.

Cherfilus-McCormick's resignation came as her own colleagues were plotting to expel her from Congress over the messy fiscal affair - in an extremely rare move.

The former congresswoman, along with a handful of co-conspirators, is accused of steering money that came into a family health-care company she ran with her brother, Edwin Cherfilus, into her campaign coffers through 'straw donations.'

The November indictment in Cherfilus–McCormick's case accuses her of purchasing a 3.14–carat 'Fancy Vivid Yellow Diamond' ring from a New York jeweler for $109,000, per CBS12.

Her official house portrait appears to show a similar piece of jewelry adorning her finger.

SPLC Indicted by a Federal Grand Jury for Fraud and other charges
[Justice.gov]The charging doc are pretty complex but the gist is below:

Apparently the SPLC sent money to the KKK and other groups so those groups could have some funded activity and then the SPLC fund raised among leftists and people with a soft spot by citing the danger of those groups.

The audacity is quite remarkable.

Between 2014 and 2023, the SPLC secretly funneled more than $3 million in donated funds to individuals who were associated with various violent extremist groups including the Ku Klux Klan, Aryan Nations, and National Socialist Party of America.

A Grand Jury in Montgomery, Alabama, today returned an indictment charging the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) with 11 counts of wire fraud, false statements to a federally insured bank, and conspiracy to commit concealment money laundering. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Alabama Northern Division filed two forfeiture actions to recover alleged proceeds of the organization’s fraud scheme. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) investigated this case with assistance from the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation (IRS-CI).

“The SPLC is manufacturing racism to justify its existence,” said Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche. “Using donor money to allegedly profit off Klansmen cannot go unchecked. This Department of Justice will hold the SPLC and every other fraudulent organization operating with the same deceptive playbook accountable. No entity is above the law.”

"Not likely. If you took all the active Klansmen in the US and put 'em in a movie theatre, you'd have plenty of seats left over."

Not much different than politicians who run on 'soak the rich' platforms but take donations from millionaires (as if they are not themselves) to then alter the tax codes to protect said millionaires money while raising taxes on everyone else.

Illegal immigrant Israel Flores Ortiz gets 360 days for groping girls at Fairfax County Va. High School
[FoxNews] Flores Ortiz, originally from El Salvador, has 135 days remaining after time served.

Israel Flores Ortiz, 18, an illegal alien, was sentenced to 360 days on Tuesday after being convicted for groping several female classmates in Fairfax High School hallways earlier this year.

With time served and the calculations for a misdemeanor, he has 135 days left in prison.

Judge Melinda Vanlowe delivered the sentence, calling it a "very difficult case," adding the actions were "targeted" and representing a "pattern" of "deplorable" behavior.

Fairfax County public defender Jamie Hospes asked Judge Vanlowe for a sentence of 9 days, calling the offenses just "butt-grabbing," adding, "sometimes we arrest people for that, sometimes we elect them to be president of the United States."

Flores Ortiz wore a green prison jumpsuit and listened to the proceedings through an interpreter.

He read a statement in Spanish, saying he apologized to the girls he had grabbed and their families.

"I hurt them," he said, also apologizing to his own mother and father.

Flores Ortiz was charged as an adult, but he was tried in juvenile court because most of the victims were minors. He was convicted in nine cases, acquitted in three and had one charge dismissed. He had originally been accused of assaulting 13 female classmates, according to the Fairfax Police Department.

The case had heightened concerns among parents about student safety after years of former President Joe Biden's open borders policy.

Flores Ortiz, originally from El Salvador, is in the country illegally, having reportedly arrived in 2024.

The defense asked the court to impose just nine days of incarceration, arguing Flores Ortiz’s age should weigh heavily in sentencing. Counsel said his "brain is physically not as developed" as that of a 25-year-old and argued his actions were not driven by sexual gratification.

Instead, the defense characterized the assaults as immature behavior, telling the court Flores Ortiz acted "for fun" and that "it was like a joke or prank."

"Only a teenager would think like that," counsel said.
Only a teenager who had absolutely no respect for American girls, and felt himself entitled to take from them what he pleased. Send him home to El Salvador to finish out his sentence.

Alan Dershowitz leaves Democratic Party, calling it ‘most anti-Israel’ in US history; Rahm Emanuel proves it, NY Gov Kathy Hochul bucks trend
[IsraelTimes] High-profile attorney, whose clients have included Trump and Epstein, says party let hard-left fringe go mainstream; joins GOP, which he says has kept antisemites on the sidelines

, announced on Monday that he was leaving the Democratic Party and registering as a Republican.

Describing himself as a "lifelong Democrat," Dershowitz wrote in a Wall Street Journal op-ed that he had decided to "bite the bullet and register as a Republican," citing Democratic support for an arms embargo on Israel last week and the Michigan Senate candidate Abdul el-Sayed’s anti-Israel rhetoric.

"There is no denying that the hard left, anti-Israel wing of the Democratic Party has moved from the fringe to the mainstream," Dershowitz wrote, adding that "Republicans have their own antisemitic fringe, but for now it remains a fringe."

The announcement formalized a political evolution for Dershowitz, who defended Trump during his first impeachment and has increasingly broken with Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. over Israel in recent years.

In 2021, Dershowitz nominated Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, and Avi Berkowitz, Trump’s top Middle East envoy during his first administration, for the Nobel Peace Prize over their hand in shaping the Abraham Accords.

Dershowitz — who has recently faced scrutiny over his ties to Epstein, and previously denied allegations of sexual misconduct made by one of the disgraced financier’s accusers — panned the Democratic Party as the "most anti-Israel party in US history" in the op-ed.

"I believe that the Democratic Party’s hostility to Israel represents a deeper and more dangerous shift away from the center and toward a radical approach that is bad for America and the free world," Dershowitz wrote, adding that he intended to "work hard to prevent the Democrats from gaining control of the House and Senate."

Dershowitz’s comments are in line with Trump’s statements about Jews and the Democratic Party. The US president has repeatedly expressed amazement at how any Jews could vote for the Democrats, considering his own record on Israel.

The new Democratic Party: Rahm Emanuel joins calls to end US ‘financial aid’ as Democratic support for Israel hits new lows
[IsraelTimes] Former Chicago mayor says ‘US should never spill any blood for Israel’s security,’ asserts Jerusalem dragged US into the conflict in ‘violation of a rule it had for 78 years’.
The truth is not Obama ally Rahm Emmanuel’s home territory, but this is the price to be active in Democratic Party politics nowadays, unless you are Senator John Fetterman.
Rahm Emanuel is the Jewish former mayor of reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel...

...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. Now, as support for Israel hits a record low among Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. and party leaders increasingly move away from the United States’ longstanding backing of the country, calls to end US military aid to Israel are gaining traction.

Last week, all but seven Senate Democrats voted to block the sales of certain weapons to Israel, marking a doubling in the number of politicians backing similar resolutions in just two years.

Emanuel, whose father was born in Jerusalem and who volunteered as a civilian with the Israeli army during the Gulf War in the 1990s, told Maher that Israel should be able to fund its own military — and implied that it might not meet the United States’ standards for being able to purchase US-made weapons.

In January, Netanyahu said for the first time that he wanted to "taper off" US military aid to Israel over the next decade until it reaches zero. His pledge was quickly met with support from South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsey Graham
...soft-spoken senator from South Carolina, former best buddy of John Maverick McCain. Since McCain's demise, Graham has become more outspoken, more Republican and more of a supporter of President Trump. The speech he gave in support of Brett Kavanaugh was downright manly and really cheesed off the Dems...

NY governor vows ‘solidarity with the Israeli people’ on Independence Day
[IsraelTimes] New York Governor Kathy Hochul marks Israel’s Independence Day with a statement of solidarity.

“New York is proud to be home to the largest Jewish population outside Israel,” Hochul says in a statement.

“As we recognize Yom Ha’atzmaut and celebrate Israel’s Independence Day, we’re reminded of the strong bond that New York and Israel share,” she says. “We’re proud to stand in solidarity with the Israeli people.”

The statement of unequivocal support stands out because Hochul is a Democrat running for reelection against pro-Israel Jewish Republican Bruce Blakeman, as the Democratic party grows increasingly hostile to Israel, according to polls.

There are more than twice as many Democrats as Republicans in the state.

The election of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, an anti-Zionist, was seen as evidence that anti-Israel politics could be a boon in New York.

Hochul has close ties with New York Jewish communities and is generally supportive of Israel, although she has voiced criticism of the Gaza war and taken some fire for her cordial relationship with Mamdani.

#7  Amazing that it has taken so very long for a Jewish man, a prominent lawyer and presumably very intelligent, to get wise about the Democrat Party.
