[BBC] After a doctor at a private clinic linked the outbreak to the hospital, called THQ Taunsa, in late 2024, local authorities promised a "massive crackdown" and suspended the hospital's medical superintendent in March 2025 – but a BBC Eye investigation can now reveal that dangerous injection practices continued months later.
During 32 hours of undercover filming at THQ Taunsa in late 2025, we witnessed syringes being reused on multi-dose vials of medicine on 10 separate occasions, potentially contaminating the drugs inside.
In four of these cases we saw medicine from the same vial given to a different child. We do not know if any of the children were HIV-positive but this practice creates a clear risk of viral transmission.

Special security forces were deployed to the Ahmet Koyuncu Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in the Siverek district of Sanliurfa province following the brutal attack on Tuesday.
Governor Hasan Sildak told local media that the gunman, 19, took his own life with his weapon when police attempted to capture him.
'He took his own life when cornered by police,' the governor said. 'We have evacuated the school and will carry out a thorough investigation into this tragic incident,' he added.
Sildak said the attacker was a former student of the school and entered the school grounds before he began firing randomly. The assailant had attended the school for one year in the ninth grade, the governor added.
He also confirmed that the attacker had no prior criminal record and that the school had previously been classified as safe by police.

[NY Post] Los Angeles cops swarmed more than 90 street takeovers already far in 2026, making at least 79 arrests, impounding 114 race cars, grabbing four stolen vehicles and seizing four firearms. At least five people were shot at LA county street takeovers this past weekend alone.
Cops say the illegal gatherings are getting more and more bloody — and with warmer weather coming, things will only get worse.
“There’s robberies, rapes, shootings, murders, stabbings,” said Sgt. Jesse Garcia, leader of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Street Racing Task Force.
“It’s only increased and gotten more violent, more boisterous and just more brazen,” he added.
