Police in London on Saturday arrested over 500 pro-Paleostinian protesters at a demonstration in support of the banned anti-Israel group Paleostine Action.
Officers carried away activists, to cheers and clapping from other demonstrators who gathered for the sit-down demonstration in the capital’s Trafalgar Square.
The protesters held placards in support of the banned group Paleostine Action, making them liable for arrest.
Paleostine Action was proscribed as a terrorist organization last July, making it a criminal offense to belong to or support the group, punishable by up to 14 years in prison. In subsequent protests, police arrested nearly 3,000 people for alleged support of the banned group.
Paleostine Action has carried out acts of "direct action" at military and industrial sites in the UK since the group’s formation in 2020, including breaking into facilities owned by Israeli weapons manufacturer Elbit Systems UK and damaging Royal Air Force planes at a base in England.
Six Paleostine Action activists are facing a retrial on a number of charges relating to a 2024 raid on Elbit’s UK factory, after they were acquitted of the charge of aggravated burglary earlier this month. The retrial will concern criminal charges on which the jury failed to reach verdicts. It is due to take place in February 2027.
The initial verdict on the raid, in which a police officer’s spine was allegedly fractured in a filmed sledgehammer attack by an activist, drew criticism from police, politicians and Jewish communal groups.
Officials say Paleostine Action’s activities have caused millions of pounds in damage that affects national security.
In mid-February, the High Court in London upheld a challenge to the ban, saying it had interfered with the right to freedom of speech.
London’s Metropolitan Police paused arrests in the wake of the High Court ruling before announcing in late March that it would resume them after the government was allowed to appeal the decision.
"It’s really important to continue to show up," said Freya, 28, manager of a London environmental organization, one of those sitting towards the front of the crowd of protesters. "The government might flip-flop in their legal argument, but the morals of these people (here) do not change."
Posting on X, London’s Metropolitan Police said by early evening they had made 92 arrests of people aged between 27 and 82, with the protesters still in place.
’MISGUIDED CRACKDOWN’
Since the ban on Paleostine Action was imposed, thousands have been arrested, mainly for carrying placards defending it. Hundreds of people are facing charges under the UK’s terrorism act.
Another protester, Denis MacDermot, 73, from Edinburgh, said he had been arrested before and had no hesitation about turning out again.
"I’m a supporter of these great people," he said, waving towards other protesters, adding that if the court process was definitive, "there would be no need for all this."

Police were "choosing to make arrests despite the government’s ban on the group being ruled unlawful by the High Court, and leading lawyers warning that any arrests would be unlawful," it added in a statement.
The ban, which put Paleostine Action on a blacklist that also includes Islamic terror groups like Hamas ..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,... and Hezbollah, has sparked a severe backlash.
A judge has put on hold all trials of people charged with supporting Paleostine Action, scheduling a blanket review of cases for July 30.
[RobinsonReport] British men Ali Mohammed Ali Abdullah, Hameed Mohammed Nagi, Ibrahim Ayyub Khan, and Mohammed Sultan Saleh were caught illegally sneaking into the U.S. in a remote part of Maine, per court records.
Four British nationals were apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol agents in a remote stretch of Somerset County woods after illegally crossing from Canada into the United States on April 3, federal court documents filed this week reveal.
One of them captured the whole thing on a GoPro camera, narrating a celebration as the group set foot on American soil.
"I can confirm you are now on US Soil," Mohammed Sultan Saleh narrated on video as the group crossed through thick forest just a few hundred yards from the St. Zacharie Port of Entry in northwestern Somerset County, according to an affidavit sworn by U.S. Border Patrol Agent Scott Hanton and filed April 7 in U.S. District Court for the District of Maine.
Another man in the group — Ali Mohammed Ali Abdullah — can be heard on the recording asking, "I’m on US Soil?" Saleh replied by showing his phone screen with GPS coordinates displayed, and declared, "Now, we are in the US. We just made it, baby."
The bust began with an unlikely pair of informants: two maple sugar workers heading into Canada who spotted four men of apparent Middle Eastern appearance walking south along the Golden Road near mile marker 90 — in the wrong direction to be casual hikers.
For those unfamiliar with the Golden Road, it’s a 96-mile, primarily unpaved private logging road in Maine, stretching from Millinocket west to the Quebec border — and there’s nothing but trees to see for 95.9 of those miles and no cell service.
The unidentified maple sugar workers flagged down a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer at the St. Zacharie Port of Entry at approximately 9:15 a.m. to alert them to the bizarre sighting.
By 9:40 a.m., the same workers had returned to the U.S. side with more intelligence: a third man had told them that two men in a gray Nissan parked on the Golden Road were asking passersby for fuel and Wi-Fi so they could contact the people they were supposed to pick up. At 10:13 a.m., that same third man called back — the Nissan had turned up near his maple sugar shack at mile marker 80.
A Border Patrol agent and the CBP officer loaded up a marked patrol vehicle and headed south on the Golden Road. At mile marker 90, they spotted fresh footprints in the soft dirt. At mile marker 87, they found the men themselves — four individuals attempting to conceal themselves in roadside vegetation.
Google Maps images of the area help show just how remote a location the supposed British hikers had found themselves in.
"One of the four men was acting nervously," Hanton wrote in his affidavit. "The two officers took the four men into custody without incident."
Although the Go Pro recording would show the men indisputably entered the U.S. illegally and intentionally, they initially claimed they were ’just going for a hike.’
When questioned about their citizenship, all four told agents they were British citizens. They claimed they didn’t know they had entered the United States, a claim the Go Pro recording revealed to be a lie.
After being transported to the Jackman Border Patrol station, the men were identified as Ali Mohammed Ali Abdullah, 18, of Liverpool, England; Hameed Mohammed Nagi; Ibrahim Ayyub Khan; and Mohammed Sultan Saleh — all British nationals, according to court documents.
Their stories didn’t hold up.
Abdullah declined to answer questions. Nagi claimed he was just going on a hike with the group. Saleh echoed that line — but federal agents had already found the GoPro footage on his phone, along with a series of telling Google searches conducted April 3: "bangor from my location," "boston from bangor," "new york from boston," and — critically — "is st zacharie border crossing still used the one near quebec golden road."
That last search would appear to put to rest any claim that Saleh was unaware he had crossed an international border.
The gray Nissan the maple sugar workers had described was still sitting near mile marker 80 when agents returned — out of gas. Two men were inside. They identified themselves as U.S. citizens.
Before the driver could fully exit the vehicle, a CBP officer observed him reach under the driver’s seat. When agents checked, they found a loaded 9mm handgun.
The two men in the Nissan were taken to Jackman as well, in connection with what the affidavit describes as "a suspected alien smuggling event." The passenger of the vehicle later admitted to Sherlocks that the driver had intended to pick up one of the four men — someone the driver said he had dropped off in the same Golden Road area approximately 30 days earlier, according to Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent Pierre Mathieu, who briefed Hanton.
A forensic review of the driver’s cell phone found text messages with an individual believed to be one of the four men, discussing expected arrival times and pickup logistics, according to the court filing.
Federal prosecutors’ motion for pretrial detention adds a further wrinkle to the story.
Abdullah, identified as the lead defendant in the criminal complaints, had previously run afoul of U.S. immigration authorities. His application to extend his U.S. visa was denied in March 2025, and he departed the country in May 2025, the motion states.
Prosecutors allege that Canadian authorities had recorded his arrival in Canada on April 1, 2026 — two days before the Maine crossing — traveling on a United Kingdom passport.
"Law enforcement authorities are attempting to ascertain the purpose of his travel to Maine," the motion states.
All four men are charged with one count each of Entry Without Inspection, a Class B misdemeanor under 8 U.S.C. § 1325(a)(1), which carries a maximum sentence of six months in federal prison and a $5,000 fine. The case is assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge John C. Nivison.
Abdullah appeared before the court on April 7 and waived his right to both a preliminary hearing and a detention hearing, consenting to remain in federal custody pending trial. The court accepted his waiver and ordered him detained.
Trial is scheduled to begin June 3, 2026, before Magistrate Judge Nivison. Pretrial motions are due April 21.
The three co-defendants — Nagi, Khan, and Saleh — have related cases pending in the same district.

It’s doubtful that the passports were only used between UK and Canada. Hopefully, the US citizens are facing charges. Doesn’t sound like the Maine judicial system will perform better than Minnesota.

Organizer Alon-Lee Green, of the binational socialist outfit Standing Together, claims there are 10,000 people at the rally, ten times the cap set by the Supreme Court amid the threat of missiles.

[IsraelTimes] IDF troops destroyed a bomb-making lab during a raid over the weekend in the West Bank’s Tulkarem camp, the military says.
The IDF says troops raided the site on Friday following “intelligence indications.”
The soldiers found some 200 pipe bombs and other improvised explosive devices made out of fire extinguishers, along with gas cylinders and some 50 kilograms of explosive material, according to the military.

The charges prepared in the laboratory were intended to target IDF forces operating in Judea and Samaria and for use in carrying out attacks against civilians of the State of Israel. The laboratory operated prior to the IDF launching continuous activity in the camps in northern Samaria.
IDF forces' activity in the area has been ongoing for more than a year, during which the forces locate ammunition, combat means, and explosive charges that were used by the terrorist organizations in the area and posed a threat to civilians of the State of Israel and IDF forces.
The IDF will not allow any harm to civilians of the State of Israel and security forces.
According to the IDF, troops were dispatched to the Palestinian village of Deir Jarir following reports of “a number of Palestinians who hurled stones at an Israeli civilian near the area.”
The soldiers were of an “area defense force” unit — known by its Hebrew acronym Hagmar — which is made up of local settlers in reserve duty.
Citing an initial inquiry, the IDF says that as troops arrived at the location, a “riot developed that included stone-throwing at them.”
The military says one reserve soldier carried out a “suspect arrest procedure” which included firing warning shots in the air, “followed by firing toward one of the stone-throwers.”
The Palestinian suspect, identified as 23-year-old Ali Hamadneh, was taken to a hospital where his death was declared.
The IDF says it is investigating the incident and will forward the details to the relevant authorities for review.

Thousands of worshipers took part in the annual Holy Fire ceremony on Saturday in Jerusalem’s Church of the Holy Sepulchre, an Orthodox Christian ritual that dates back more than 1,200 years.
The ceremony, held the day before Orthodox Easter, symbolizes the resurrection of Jesus. A flame, supposedly kindled in some miraculous way in the heart of Jesus’s tomb, is used to light the candles of fervent believers from Orthodox communities.
The Church of the Holy Sepulchre reopened just two days prior to the ceremony, having been closed to the public for 40 days under Israeli security restrictions during the war with Iran. But it opened its doors again on Thursday, along with the Old City of Jerusalem’s other holy sites, as the fragile two-week ceasefire between Iran, Israel and the US appeared to hold.
Still, Saturday’s proceedings drew a significantly smaller crowd than previous years, The Orthodox Times reported, although thousands still crowded into the church and on the surrounding streets to wait for the Patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Jerusalem, Theopilos III, to exit the Aedicule, believed in Christianity to be the burial place of Jesus, with the lit ceremonial torches.
"Just two days ago there was absolutely no one in the Old City, it felt like an orphaned town," said Fr. Antonious al-Orshalemy, who was taking part in the procession. "But now we see wedding-like celebrations on every level. Everyone is happy, and everyone is joyful."
There was also a heavy police presence on the streets surrounding the ceremony, with the Haaretz news site alleging that the police were treating the annual Holy Fire procession as a security incident, rather than a religious celebration, putting up eight checkpoints from the Old City’s New Gate to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and significantly limiting the movement of participants.
A police spokesperson said in advance of the event that precautions were taken to prevent overcrowding.
While the ceremony largely passed peacefully and without incident, Israel Police officers were filmed aggressively detaining several Paleostinian Christians taking part in the Holy Fire procession.
The Paleostinian Authority’s official Wafa news site said police forced members of the Paleostinian scouts to remove the Paleostinian flag from their uniforms.
Responding to allegations regarding the use of excessive force, police said in a statement that "the incident in question involved a small number of individuals, some of whom were under the influence of alcohol, who attempted to disrupt public order and the proper conduct of the Holy Fire ceremony by refusing to clear a designated route for a religious procession.
"Police officers acted to maintain order and ensure the safe continuation of the event. During the incident, one individual physically assaulted an officer and was subsequently arrested," the statement added.
Following Saturday’s ceremony, the flame was received by Foreign Ministry representatives, who then handed it off to various diplomatic and church delegations, which, as every year, were in place to oversee its transportation back to their respective countries ahead of Orthodox Easter on Sunday.
The Foreign Ministry held a briefing on Thursday in preparation, after receiving confirmation that the ceasefire meant the ceremony could proceed as hoped.
Among the countries receiving a portion of the flame were Greece, Cyprus, Romania, and Russia.
Not all countries that traditionally send a delegation were participating this year, however. The Bulgarian Orthodox Church said on Thursday that it had decided against sending a delegation to Jerusalem due to a travel warning for the region. Instead, it said it would distribute the previous year’s flame, which it had kept burning.

At least 10 Palestinians were reported killed in Israeli strikes on Friday night and Saturday, with the Israel Defense Forces saying they included several terror operatives.
Meanwhile, an Israeli soldier was severely wounded in an “operational accident” in the central Gaza Strip on Saturday, the military announced. The incident occurred during bulldozing work in the area. The military said the soldier was taken to a hospital in serious condition and his family was notified.
In southern Gaza, the IDF killed Mahmoud Barim, a member of the Mujahideen Brigades terror group, who the military said had been carrying out surveillance on troops and “possessed a large amount of weaponry.
In northern Gaza, the IDF killed Ahmad Muhammad Saleh, a member of Hamas’s elite Nukhba Force, “who had advanced several terror attack plans against IDF troops,” the military said.
The strike targeting Saleh also killed several more Hamas operatives, it added, saying: “The terrorists posed a real threat to IDF troops and were eliminated in precise strikes.”
On Saturday, the IDF said troops stationed in northern Gaza killed a Palestinian terror operative who crossed the ceasefire line.
The operative approached reservists of the 205th “Iron Fist” Armored Brigade “in a manner that posed an immediate threat,” the military said, adding that the troops “eliminated the terrorist to remove the threat.”
Additionally, the Hamas-run Gaza civil defense service said that Israeli airstrikes in the Palestinian territory had killed seven people overnight into Saturday.
Mahmoud Bassal, spokesman for the group, which operates under the authority of the Hamas terror group, said an Israeli drone had fired two missiles close to a police post in the Al-Bureij refugee camp.
In addition to the seven dead, he said, several more people were wounded, four of them critically.
The Al-Aqsa hospital in central Gaza said Saturday that it had received six bodies and seven wounded, “including four in a critical condition because of direct impacts to the face, torso and other parts of the body.”
The nearby al-Awda hospital said it had received one fatality and two wounded.
The figures did not distinguish between combatants and civilians.
In response to a query by The Times of Israel, the military said it had struck an armed cell of Hamas gunmen whose members had “approached the Yellow Line” and planned to carry out an “imminent” attack on Israeli forces stationed in the area.
Hamas and Israel have traded blame for violations of the ceasefire agreed last October, which halted two years of full-blown war.
The Gaza health ministry, which is controlled by Hamas, says Israeli fire has killed at least 700 people since the ceasefire began, though it does not differentiate between civilians and combatants. The figures cannot be independently verified.
Four IDF soldiers have been killed in attacks by Gazans over the same period. A fifth soldier was killed in a friendly fire incident.

In a statement, the ministry said security forces observed a woman as she attempted to "plant an bomb in front of the house of a religious figure" near a church in Damascus’s Bab Touma area.
Security forces intervened and dismantled the device, arresting all five members of the cell, the statement said.

So - bad when Iran does it, okay when the US does it.
Just remember, it's not just oil and LNG that isn't moving outbound. It's also significant fractions of the worlds helium, urea, aluminum and sulfur traffic.
And of course all the consumer goods that are inbound to the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain (food, electronics, clothes, grain etc).
Air and ground trans only carries a fraction of what ocean containers do - and we are approaching 45 days of intermittent traffic. That's gonna show up in the markets response tomorrow. For instance, Japan is already short on naphtha. Doesn't matter who shut the traffic down ultimately to the folks at the end of the supply chain (the spice must flow). And just for fun - imagine you chartered one of the vessels stuck waiting to go in or out - and are paying demurrage for the past little bit - on a daily basis.

Israel and Hezbollah shot it out throughout Saturday, with the Israel Defense Forces striking hundreds of targets in Leb ...an Iranian satrapy until recently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel... and the Iran-backed terror group launching dozens of rockets and drones at northern Israel.
The fighting in Lebanon continued as Jerusalem and Beirut geared up for direct peace talks, which are slated for Tuesday in Washington.
The Israeli and Lebanese ambassadors to the US, who will represent their respective sides during the talks, held a first direct phone conversation on Friday, during which the Israeli envoy said that Jerusalem is not prepared to cease fighting against Hezbollah, despite reported pressure from the US to do so.
There were no reports of injuries as a result of Hezbollah’s rocket and drone fire on Israel on Saturday, which caused minor property damage.
One Hezbollah drone struck a building in the northern border community of Shlomi. Several more drones were intercepted, the military said.
More than 30 rockets were also launched, though most were intercepted, and some were allowed to hit open areas across the Galilee, including near the cities of Safed and Karmiel, the IDF said.
According to the Israeli military, two soldiers were moderately maimed in combat with Hezbollah in southern Lebanon on early Saturday morning.
In Lebanon, 10 people, including three emergency workers, were killed by Israeli strikes on the south, according to the country’s health ministry.
The ministry said three deadly strikes hit locations in the Nabatiyeh district, with the dead including a member of the Lebanese civil defense and two paramedics from the Hezbollah-affiliated Islamic Health Committee. It decried what it said was Israel’s "systematic" targeting of emergency workers.
According to the IDF, the Israeli Air Force struck some 200 targets Friday night and Saturday. The targets included Hezbollah infrastructure and rocket launchers, the army said.
"The Air Force continues to strike the infrastructure of the Hezbollah terror organization and to assist the activity of ground forces operating in southern Lebanon," the IDF said in a statement.
"In addition, the IDF continues to strike launchers to thwart fire toward Israeli civilians," the military added.
Notably, the IDF has not conducted any strikes against Hezbollah in Beirut since Wednesday night, amid reports of US pressure on Israel to limit attacks on the terror group as it attempts to advance negotiations with Tehran.
Lebanese state media also reported on Israeli ground operations in more than a dozen locations in south Lebanon, where five IDF divisions are currently deployed.
According to the IDF, two soldiers of the Paratroopers Brigade were moderately maimed during a clash with Hezbollah button men in southern Lebanon on Saturday. The pair was hit by shrapnel amid an exchange of fire with Hezbollah button men. They were taken to a hospital and their families were notified, the army added.
According to the IDF, the paratroopers had raided several Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon, and at one building, they encountered several Hezbollah operatives. The paratroopers directed an Israeli Air Force drone, which struck and killed at least two of the button men, the military said, publishing footage from the incident.
The IDF said the troops later located weapons used by the operatives, and separately found another cache of Hezbollah weapons.
HEZBOLLAH MP: DIRECT TALKS A ’BLATANT VIOLATION’ OF LAW
As combat between Israel and Hezbollah continued, Israel’s Ambassador to the US Yechiel Leiter told his Lebanese counterpart during their first-ever phone call on Saturday that Israel is not prepared to cease fighting against the Iran-backed group, even as it prepares to negotiate a potential peace deal with Beirut.
The US is reportedly urging Israel to halt the fighting against Hezbollah before the first-ever public meeting between envoys from Jerusalem and Beirut on Tuesday. Lebanon has argued that a ceasefire should be a precondition of the meeting.
Beirut is seeking the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Lebanese territory, while Israel has framed the talks as a step towards formally establishing peace with Lebanon, with which it has technically been at war for decades.
Reacting to the imminent talks, Hezbollah MP Hassan Fadlallah said the government’s decision to hold direct talks with Israel was "a blatant violation of the [national] pact, the constitution and Lebanese laws."
The move "exacerbates domestic divisions at a time when Lebanon most needs solidarity and internal unity to face Israel’s aggression and preserve civil peace," he added in a statement.
He went on to say the government "has failed to protect its people and cannot be trusted to safeguard national illusory sovereignty."
Ali Akbar Velayati, an adviser to Iran’s supreme leader, also chimed in on the talks, saying on X that Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam "should know that ignoring the unique role of the resistance and the heroic Hezbollah will expose Lebanon to irreparable security risks."
"Lebanon’s stability rests exclusively on cohesion between the government and the resistance," he said.
GRIEF IN LEBANON AS WAR DRAGS ON
In the coastal city of Sidon, meanwhile, hundreds of people attended a funeral procession on Saturday for 13 state security personnel who were killed the day before when Israeli strikes hit near their office in Nabatiyeh in the south.
The IDF said late Friday that it was investigating the incident. The military said it had targeted buildings used by Hezbollah "for military activity," and that it was aware of reports of casualties among Lebanon’s security forces.
"The incident is under review," the IDF added.
Lebanon’s health ministry says Israeli attacks have killed over 1,800 people since hostilities escalated on March 2, in tolls that do not differentiate between fighters and civilians. According to IDF tallies released Friday, more than 1,400 Hezbollah operatives have been killed over the same period.
