[Legal Insurrection] OVERVIEW
Today the state presented three medical/science experts. The first was Dr. Martin Tobin, Physician in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Chicago, presented as an expert witness on respiratory matters. He was followed by Daniel Isenschmit, Forensic Toxicologist, NMS Laboratories, who was involved in drug testing Floyd’s blood. And the day closed with Dr. William Smock, Emergency Medical Physician, and self-described "Police Surgeon," who discussed excited delirium and some other issues.
OK folks, I won’t bury the lead—today’s trial proceedings looked a lot more typical for a prosecution presenting its case in chief than has been the case so far in Minnesota v. Chauvin. What I mean by that is that the state finally had a day in which its own witnesses did not end up doing the defense more good than themselves.
We’ve grown so accustomed to Nelson simply having his way with prosecution witnesses that today might appear as if it were bad for the defense. It would be more accurate to say it was not a great day for the defense—which is quite a change from past experience.
In truth, however, this is what every day of the trial should have looked like so far. Right now it is the prosecution in charge, presenting their case, in control of direct questioning. The defense is very limited in what they can do on cross-examination. They can’t simply produce their own evidence for the jury, they can’t argue with the state’s witnesses, they are limited in their cross-examination to only the issues the state has chosen to raise in their direct questioning.

[NR] Prosecutors at Derek Chauvin’s murder trial in Minneapolis seemed jolted Wednesday when one of their most important witnesses initially testified that during George Floyd’s detention by police, while he appeared to be in fear for his life, Floyd stated, "I ate too many drugs." Floyd, who was later pronounced dead, could be heard speaking on an audio/visual recording. The witness, Agent James Reyerson of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, acknowledged during cross-examination by Chauvin’s counsel, Eric Nelson, that he could hear Floyd say, "I ate too many drugs."
It was clear that prosecutors were taken aback by this testimony. On re-direct examination, prosecutor Matthew Frank pressed Reyerson, who was the lead investigator in the probe of Floyd’s death, whether he’d ever carefully reviewed the audio before Nelson asked him to do it on cross. Reyerson said he had not. Then, after a break when he would have had an opportunity to meet with prosecutors, the witness abruptly reversed course. Under further questioning by Frank, Reyerson claimed, upon further review, that he now believes Floyd actually said, "I ain’t do no drugs."

Chauvin is toast. The Mob has declared he is guilty of killing St. Floyd so actual evidence and truth doesn't matter. If he were to be found innocent the mob has stated cities will burn. Welcome to "Mob justice", something we will probably see more of.

Maybe after conviction and riots, some judge will finally overturn the decision. A Trump judge. More riots.

He's not toast. This is like the Zimmerman trial all over again: the defense is destroying the prosecution, showing clearly that their client did nothing wrong.
We haven't even heard the defenses witnesses, and already the prosecution's case has fallen apart.
They've done nothing at all to overcome presumption of innocence and reasonable doubt that 140-lb. Chauvin's knee on the shoulders and back of 6 1/2 foot tall 230-lb. Floyd killed him instead of the massive fentanyl-meth cocktail that Floyd ingested.
The toxicology report -- which hasn't yet been discussed for the jury -- makes the cause of death crystal(meth)-clear. The trial has been a disaster for the prosecution.
#4
The jury has been given enough 'over' to convict: Chauvin's chain of command testified that he used excessive force and it was unacceptable, and a medical expert has testified that Floyd died of suffocation, due to the hold. The jury can believe that or the alternative expert testimony (Chauvin's hold was standard, trained practice and Floyd died of suffocation due to drugs), but they are likely to vote guilty, with the expectation that if they are wrong an appeals court will correct them. Wrong, but that's what I expect they will do.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations ... the Moslem Brüderbund's American arm ... , a Washington DC-based civil rights and advocacy group for Moslems, is asking Valve, Microsoft, and Sony to refuse to distribute Six Days in Fallujah, ... the City of Mosques, which might have somthing to do with why it's not called Center of Prosperity or a really nice place to raise your kids... an upcoming tactical FPS based on the Second Battle of Fallujah, one of the bloodiest battles of the Iraq War.
"We call on Microsoft, Sony and Valve to ban their platforms from hosting Six Days in Fallujah, an Arab murder simulator that will only normalize violence against Moslems in America and around the world," CAIR Research and Advocacy Coordinator Huzaifa Shahbaz said in a statement.
"The gaming industry must stop dehumanizing Moslems. Video games like Six Days in Fallujah only serve to glorify violence that took the lives of hundreds of Iraqi civilians, justify the Iraq war, and reinforce anti-Moslem sentiment at a time when anti-Moslem bigotry continues to threaten human life." The Afghan Ministry of Interior (MoI) on Thursday released the confessions of at least nine people who were allegedly involved in a series of targeted liquidations, including the liquidation of former TOLOnews presenter Yama Siawash and Mahmoud Kochai, the former chief of PD5 of Kabul.
Based on the confessions, a mosque Imam, a teacher of a religious seminary and a number of students of a religious madarasa are among the suspects who have confessed to have played a role in several explosions and liquidation of several military personnel and civilians.
The Interior Ministry said that some of the suspects' colleagues have not been arrested so far.
The suspects were nabbed in Kabul, Pashtun-infested Logar and Laghman ...Afghan province with a population of about 445,600, which is multi-ethnic and mostly a rural society. During the invasions of Alexander the Great, the area was known as Lampaka, wich is apparently Olde Macedonian for Laghman. The city of Mihtarlam serves as the bucolic capital of the province. The population is half Pashtun, the remainder Tadjik and Pashai. It had a repution for great wealth until it was conquered in the tenth century by Abu Mansur Sabuktigin.
He conquered it and set fire to the places in its vicinity which were inhabited by infidels, and demolishing the idol-temples, he established Islam in them, He marched and captured other cities and killed the polluted wretches, destroying the idolatrous and gratifying the Musulmans. After wounding and killing beyond all measure, his hands and those of his friends became cold in counting the value of the plundered property.
After that it was mostly notable for the production of dirt, rocks, and holy men... provinces.
Abdul Saboor, the ringleader of the group, is also among those arrested and is a native of Pashtun-infested Logar province.
Abdul Saboor in his confession says that he had plotted the killing of Yama Siawash and police chief of PD5 in Kabul.
"A series of 14 explosions and 5 liquidations were conducted which also included the liquidation of Yama Siawash, the police chief of PD5, two rangers vehicles in Khair Khana—Qari Mahaz was also associated and we conducted the job," said Abdul Saboor, accused of the assassination.
"They are Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... , although they do not claim it directly, but the Taliban are involved," said Tariq Arian, a front man for the MoI.
On Thursday, Italian Defense Minister; Lorenzo Guerini said that the ceasefire in Libya remains fragile. This comes despite the significant progress made in the political process and the formation of the new Government of National Unity (GNU) in UN-led talks in Geneva.
Guerini said, in a joint hearing with the defence committees of the Italian House of Representatives and Senate that the ceasefire in Libya remains at risk. This is due to the presence of foreign forces, militias, and mercenaries who would eventually lead to the failure of the ceasefire agreement.
He urged the GNU to ensure that the ceasefire is maintained ahead of elections scheduled for later this year.
[All Africa] The one day extraordinary summit of the "Double Troika" of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) ended in Maputo on Thursday, without announcing any decisions other than plans to hold further meetings at the end of the month. One of the two troikas consists of the current, incoming and outgoing chairs of SADC (namely Mozambique, Malawi and Tanzania), while the second is formed by the current, incoming and outgoing chairs of the SADC organ for politics, defence and security cooperation (Botswana, South Africa and Zim-bob-we).
The summit was called in the wake of the terrorist attack of 24 March against the town of Palma in the northern Mozambican province of Cabo Delgado, but the leaders did not pledge any immediate practical support for Mozambique.
The summit was called in the wake of the terrorist attack of 24 March against the town of Palma in the northern Mozambican province of Cabo Delgado, but the leaders did not pledge any immediate practical support for Mozambique.
The final communiqué from the summit condemned the terrorist attacks "in the strongest terms" and declared that "such heinous attacks cannot be allowed to continue without a proportionate regional response". But it did not suggest what such a regional response might consist of.
The Summit expressed "SADC's full solidarity with the government and people of Mozambique" and reaffirmed "SADC's continued commitment to contribute towards the efforts to bring about lasting peace and security, as well as reconciliation and development in the Republic of Mozambique".
The summit ordered "an immediate technical deployment" to Mozambique, and "the convening of an Extraordinary Meeting of the Ministerial Committee of the Organ by 28 April 2021 that will report to the Extraordinary Organ Troika summit on 29 April 2021".

[MSN] "We think that a basic knowledge of Swedish and knowledge of society is a reasonable demand to make," said the country's Justice Minister Morgan Johansson, adding that incomers would have to prove they can support themselves.
He said that the new migration policy had been designed to be tougher than the loose regime which was in place before the migration crisis in 2015, when 160,000 people sought asylum in the country, more per head than any other country in Europe.
"This means that we will be in line with other EU countries, which among other things will mean that Sweden is no longer a magnet for asylum seekers as we were during the refugee crisis in 2015," he said.
The bill proposed by the ruling minority coalition, which is led by the centre-left Sweden Democrats in alliance with the Greens, makes permanent some of the restrictive measures in temporary emergency legislation brought in at the height of the crisis.

[JPost] Congressional Republicans put a hold on $75 million of the newly reinstated US aid to the Paleostinians, two sources in Washington confirmed on Thursday.
On March 26, the US Agency for International Development (USAID) sent Congress a "program narrative" of about $75m. in Economic Support Funds (ESF) for programs in the West Bank and Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... that would begin 15 days after the notification was received.
Sen. Jim Risch (R-Idaho) and Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas), used their respective positions as ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and lead Republican of the House Foreign Affairs Committee to stop the USAID’s notification about the reinstated funding from reaching the committees, which means the aid will not start on April 10 as planned.
The USAID programs for the Paleostinians include roads, sidewalks, bus lots, emergency preparedness, adapting to climate change, "community initiatives" and "safe spaces to engage in community initiatives."
On Wednesday, the State Department announced a financial package of $290m. for the Paleostinians, including security and humanitarian aid, as well as funding for UNRWA, the UN agency for Paleostinian refugees and their descendants.
Risch and McCaul said, shortly after the announcement, that "resuming assistance to the West Bank and Gaza without concessions from the Paleostinian Authority undermines US interests.
"The PA is spending millions annually to compensate forces of Evil while the international community pays for the well-being of the Paleostinian people," they stated. "A recent Government Accountability Office report rightly calls for increased oversight of Paleostinian assistance to ensure compliance with anti-terrorism policies. The Biden administration should use all available leverage to secure behavior changes from the PA, including ending terror payments."
They added that they would ensure that the government’s move to reinstate aid does not violate the Taylor Force Act, which outlawed most aid to the Paleostinian Authority as long as it continues its "pay-for-slay" scheme, in which Paleostinian forces of Evil receive monthly stipends, corresponding in size to the severity of their crimes.
The GAO report Risch and McCaul referenced, released on March 19, stated that USAID "did not consistently ensure" its grants given in 2015-2019 did not reach forces of Evil and terrorist groups. The GAO recommended that USAID "(1) verify prime awardees have procedures to ensure compliance with requirements before making sub-awards and (2) conduct post-award compliance reviews in time to make corrections before the awards end."

[DAILYTIMES.PK] Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Wednesday that his country will supply ’special military equipment’ to Pakistain to boost the country’s war against terrorism.

[Just The News] newly released trove of U.S. military interrogation documents depict both betrayal and banality within the upper echelons of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, known as ISIS. The documents are a portion of the 2008 interrogation records for Amir Muhammad Sa'id Abdal-Rahman al-Mawla, who currently leads the jihadist organization.
Although the Department of Defense last fall released a few documents from the interrogations, the newly released 53 reports reveal a deeper view of "prison canary" al-Mawla and of ISIS itself.
Al-Mawla was captured by U.S. forces in January 2008 in Iraq, according to the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point, which on Tuesday released the documents. Although al-Mawla at first denied being involved with ISIS, he quickly revealed detailed information to his interrogators about the extremist group. The trove contains reports on interrogation sessions spanning seven months.
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] While Washington and Baghdad failed in specifying a date for US forces exiting Iraq, the two countries were able to focus on key issues like healthcare, investment, security, energy, education and counterterrorism during their third round of strategic dialogue.
In a joint statement on the US-Iraq Strategic Dialogue released by the US State Department, both Washington and Baghdad reaffirmed the principles agreed upon by the two countries in the Strategic Framework Agreement (SFA), which was signed in 2008.
"The US reaffirmed its respect for Iraq’s illusory sovereignty, territorial integrity, and relevant decisions of the Iraqi legislative and executive authorities," read the statement.
It also said that the Iraqi delegation included representatives of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and was led by Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, while the US delegation was led by State Secretary Anthony Blinken.
In the security and counterterrorism discussion, the US and Iraq reiterated their mutual intention to continue bilateral security coordination and cooperation and stressed that US forces are in Iraq at the invitation of Iraqi Government to support the Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) in their fight against ISIS.
The two sides "reaffirmed their mutual intention to continue bilateral security coordination and cooperation," stressing that the redeployment of the US and coalition forces is based on "the increasing capacity of the Iraqi forces."
"The mission of US and coalition forces has now transitioned to one focused on training and advisory tasks, thereby allowing for the redeployment of any remaining combat forces from Iraq, with the timing to be established in upcoming technical talks," the statement added.
"The transition of US and other international forces away from combat operations to training, equipping, and assisting the ISF reflects the success of their strategic partnership and ensures support to the ISF’s continued efforts to ensure ISIS can never again threaten Iraq’s stability."
The Iraqi government in turn committed to protecting the international coalition personnel, convoys, and diplomatic facilities, it said, adding that the two sides emphasized that the current military bases, on which US and coalition personnel are present, are Iraqi bases and their presence is only for supporting Iraq's efforts in the fight against ISIS.

How does this fit with the article the other day saying the US was withdrawing combat troops? Just going to leave the soft targets?
[JPost] - Can the US offer financial assistance to the Palestinians even while the Palestinian Authority pays monthly stipends to terrorists and their families?
The question was raised by reporters and pundits on Wednesday when the US announced it planned to restore humanitarian and security assistance to the Palestinians, as part of an overall financial package of $290 million.
Of course not - that would require money to be fungible!
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Paleostinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh said on Wednesday that Paleostine hasn't received any financial aid from any Arab country or from the US for more than one year. That's the way it should be.
"Due to lack of Arab funds, the deficiency in the Paleostinian budget climbed to one billion US dollars," Shtayyeh told a conference held in the West Bank city of Ramallah on the coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague) ...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men... crisis challenges in the country.
"Arab countries haven't sent any financial aid during 2020 until now. In addition, the US has suspended its financial support, which amounted to $500 million per year," he said.
During the conference, the PM said the Paleostinian government is ready for austerity and reducing its running cost.
Shtayyeh affirmed that the pandemic has worsened the economic condition, and has negatively affected the psychological, social, health, financial aspects of people's lives. This concurs with annexation schemes, Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... blockade, Judaization of Jerusalem, settlements, and other political issues.
World Bank Country Director for West Bank and Gaza Kanthan Shankar said that the World Bank has been keen on providing financial aid to the Paleostinians since the outbreak of the pandemic.
An amount of $100 million was granted to the Paleostinians to reinforce the health system. Further, financial aid was given to the poor families who were influenced by the pandemic, Shankar said.
He underscored the significance of protecting the logistic services and ensuring medical requirements.
Shankar stressed the necessity of taking health precautions, and creating job opportunities in the health sector, and recruiting a sufficient number of employees in this field.
The European Union ...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing... 's representative, Sven Kuehn, said that the EU supported the Paleostinian government since the beginning of the pandemic. It granted EUR71 million in addition to EUR5 million to support poor families in the West Bank.
Kuehn added that the EU supported the UNRWAfinacially to fulfill the needs of Paleostine’s refugees through its health and relief programs.

[JPost] Sheikh Ikrimah Sabri, the preacher of al-Aqsa Mosque and former Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, announced on Thursday that any Muslim who sells land or houses to Jews will be denied burial in a Muslim cemetery.
Sabri’s new fatwa (Islamic religious decree) came after 15 Jewish families moved on Thursday morning into 15 apartments in the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan (Kfar HaShiloach).
The village, built on the slope descending from the Mount of Olives, includes the City of David (Ir David) archaeological site and was previously inhabited by Yemenite Jews.
The apartments were reportedly purchased by Ateret Cohanim, an organization that has long been working to expand the Jewish presence in east Jerusalem.
"Anyone who sells property to Jewish organizations will not be buried in Muslim cemeteries," Sabri ruled.
The Silwan-based Wadi Hilweh Information Center said that "settlers escorted by policemen seized three buildings in the center of Silwan."
In 2018, the present Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Sheikh Mohammed Hussein, issued an edict in which he warned that anyone found to have "sold, bestowed ownership or even facilitated the transfer of any part of Jerusalem or the land of Palestine to the enemies will be considered a heretic and traitor."

[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said Leb ...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... ’s stability and security are vital for the region, emphasizing the importance of swiftly forming a Lebanese technocratic government that will carry out the required reforms and be responsible for the interest of Lebanese people.
Shoukry visited Lebanon and met with a number of officials including President Michel Aoun ...president of Leb, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah... , Speaker Nabih Knobby Berri ...Speaker of the Lebanese parliament, head of the Amal Shiite party aligned with Hezbollah, a not very subtle sock puppet of the Medes and Persians... , and Prime Minister Saad Hariri ...Second son of Rafik Hariri, the Leb PM who was assassinated in 2005. He has was prime minister in his own right from 2009 through early 2011. He was born in Riyadh to an Iraqi mother and graduated from Georgetown University. He managed his father's business interests in Riyadh until his father's assassination. When his father died he inherited a fortune of some $4.1 billion, which won't do him much good if Hizbullah has him bumped off, too.... . However, Switzerland makes more than cheese... he did not include in his meetings the caretaker prime minister, Hassan Diab, the head of the Free Patriotic Movement Despite its name a Christian party allied with Hizbullah, neither free nor particularly patriotic... , MP Gebran Bassil, and Hezbollah officials.
Shoukry passed on a message from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to his Lebanese counterpart, reiterating Egypt’s solidarity with Lebanon and its support of the efforts exerted to form a new government.
Shoukhry noted that this would "open the door for regional and international support and serve the common interests of the region’s countries, but primarily those of the brotherly Lebanese people."
Aoun’s office said the president lauded Egypt’s role to help Lebanon address the various crises it is facing, particularly the governmental crisis.
He also expressed the hope that "the efforts will bear positive results through committing to the constitutional and distribution rules upon which the Lebanese system is built and including all the Lebanese parties."
Aoun stressed the accuracy of the tasks that will be entrusted to the new government, including reforms and audits to hold accountable those who stole the money of both the Lebanese and the state.
During a presser with Hariri, Shoukry asserted that his country will continue to exert all possible efforts alongside the Lebanese political parties to overcome the crisis facing the formation of the new government.
"The political framework of the upcoming government is ruled by the constitution, the Taif Agreement and the full commitment to those documents, considered the main pillars of stability."
Shoukry denounced the ongoing political deadlock preventing the formation of a government of specialists capable of meeting the needs of the brotherly Lebanese people and achieving stability, not only for Lebanon but for the region and Egypt.

[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Lebanese President Michel Aoun ...president of Leb, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah... has called on the Lebanese to put their political differences aside and support him in unveiling the biggest heist in Leb ...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. ’s history, saying the forensic audit may be harder than liberating the land.
In a televised speech, Aoun slammed the Central Bank saying that political parties provided cover for its operations, accusing it of violating the Code of Money and Credit.
"You should have organized the banking practice and taken the measures to protect the people’s money in banks and imposed solvency and liquidity standards."
The president accused the banks of squandering people’s money, saying: "your liability is obvious, and you cannot run away from the truth: people entrusted you with their money and you disposed of it irresponsibly, yearning for quick profit without distributing the risks according to professional rules."
Aoun stressed that the forensic audit is the demand of all the Lebanese, pointing out that the collapse of the forensic audit "means a hit to the French initiative because without it, there is no international support, no CEDRE money, no Arab or Gulf support, and no International Monetary Fund."
He believed that undermining the audit will be a blow to the government's decision, calling for an extraordinary session to take appropriate decisions to protect people's deposits, uncover the causes of the collapse, and define responsibilities in preparation for accountability and the restoration of rights.
The central bank’s accounts were not transparent, and it was unaware of the shortage in foreign exchange reserves, which was illegally covered from depositors’ money, according to Aoun.
He explained that the government assigned the consultancy firm Alvarez & Marsal for the audit, but the governor of the central bank refused to answer 73 out of 133 questions it had sent, claiming they violated the Code of Money and Credit or had no answer.
"It has become clear that the goal of stalling the audit is to push the company to despair to leave Lebanon and stop the audit," said Aoun, warning that the criminals will get away from punishment.
