Covenant School trans shooter plotted Nashville attack for years, kept notebooks with plans: final report
Seems the 'manifesto' went the way of Epstein's guest list and Hunter's laptop
[FoxNews] Audrey Hale kept multiple journals about motive, but no highly anticipated 'manifesto,' police say

Nashville police have released their final report on the Covenant School massacre – a targeted March 2023 attack on a Christian school by a transgender shooter who killed three third-graders and three adults.

Rather than a highly anticipated manifesto, the report found that killer Audrey Hale left behind numerous notebooks, art books and computer documents about her plans to commit the attack and gain notoriety, partly inspired by the Columbine school shooting in 1999.

Hale, the 28-year-old attacker and biological female, began "fantasizing" about and researching mass shootings as far back as 2017, according to investigators. A year later, she wrote "detailed fantasies" about shooting up the Isaac T. Creswell Middle Magnet School for the Arts, killing her father and killing her psychiatrist.

"In this case, a manifesto didn’t exist," the document reads. "Hale never left behind a single document explaining why she committed the attack, why she specifically targeted The Covenant, and what she hoped to gain, if anything, with the attack."

Instead, her motivations were scattered across those many notebooks and other writings, investigators found. They included an image showing more than two-dozen notebooks seized from Hale's car and bedroom. They also said she left a suicide note addressed to her parents.

Read the Nashville police report:

"In short, the motive determined over the course of the investigation was notoriety," according to investigators. "Even though numerous disappointments in relationships, career aspirations, and independence fueled her depression, and even though this depression made her highly suicidal, this doesn’t explain the attack. As Hale wrote on several occasions, if suicide was her goal then she would have simply killed herself."

Hale wanted people to remember her after her death, according to the document, and was partly inspired by books and documentaries on the Columbine killers. She wanted similar records of her own life and expected her guns, artwork and journals to be preserved in museums around the world.

"Most disturbingly, she wanted the things she left behind to be shared with the world so she could inspire and teach others who were ‘mentally disordered’ like her to plan and commit an attack of their own," investigators wrote.

Because of Hale's consistent diaries over a period of years, police said they were able to collect far more information about her than in a typical investigation. They found no evidence of accomplices and said she wanted to prove her "superiority."

The Covenant School was attached to a church that Hale once attended, and she chose the target because of her connection to it, because children wouldn't put up a fight, and because she wanted to obtain infamy, according to police.

She killed three 9-year-olds: the pastor's daughter Hallie Scruggs, Evelyn Dieckhaus and William Kinney. The three adults she killed were 60-year-old Head of School Katherine Koonce, Cynthia Peak, 61, and Mike Hill, 61.

Her biggest fear in the attack, at 5 feet, 2 inches tall and 120 pounds, was running into a "hero" who could physically overpower her and force her to be captured alive.

So she settled on an elementary school that she described as the setting for her "happiest" childhood memories.

"She never remarked of being bullied and ostracized there; on the contrary, she remarked on a couple of occasions how she established friendships, which included play-dates at the homes of other children and a sense of acceptance," police revealed. "She gave no examples of how anyone at the school belittled her or harmed her, as she did in other places she attended school. Because of this, Hale felt The Covenant was the perfect place to commit an attack, as it was the perfect setting for her death."

The killer also had plans for "B" and "C" targets – the Opry Mills Mall and a stretch of Belmont Boulevard near Belmont University campus in Nashville. If her parents discovered her plans, she decided she would kill them and attack the Belmont target, according to investigators.

She spent months practicing at the firing range and painted the phrase "Dark Abyss" on her clothes and guns. That was the name she had given to her depression.

But the attack was delayed multiple times, including once after the death of a close friend in a car crash.

Hale, who began using the name "Aiden Williams" in the years before her death, was killed by responding officers in harrowing bodycam video.

"Hale felt she would be a failure if she killed less than 10 people during the attack. In that respect, she did fail, in no small part due to the actions of the faculty and staff at The Covenant," police wrote. "But she managed to attain the notoriety she craved simply by self-documenting her life and actions in a way no other mass killer has done before."

Plane bounces on Tampa airport runway while trying to land, video shows
[FoxNews] The incident unfolded on March 27 as the red Cirrus SR22 propeller aircraft was arriving from the Myrtle Beach area.

"Immediately upon touching down the aircraft began to bounce several times," Steven Markovich, a witness who was filming an aviation show at the airport, told Storyful. "Wisely the pilot aborted the landing and did a go around. Second time was a perfect landing."
At that point turned into a touch-and-go rather than trying to wrestle the little thing through a potential crash. Glad the pilot was ok.

#4  Global Warming, man! The 0.04 degree C rise in the average global temperature has caused the Earth to expand, as things do when heated. Because the surface of the Earth is higher, a landing plane will encounter the ground sooner than expected, leading to bounces.

-Signs, Portents, and the Weather-
This Is Actually One Sport Where Men And Women Are Fairly Equal
[FNS] Women's fencer Stephanie Turner took her mask off and got a knee in front of her transgender opponent.

Ahead of a bout at the Cherry Blossom Open in Maryland over the weekend, Turner, 31, made the decision not to compete against trans athlete Redmond Sullivan. And Turner also wanted to make sure her refusal was caught on video for the world to see.

Turner came to the decision the night before the event when she checked the competition pools and saw that she would be competing against Sullivan, whom she had read about in an article last year.

OTOH - The reason men don't fence women in America is because a German epee fencer, Helena Mayer, moved to the US and kicked everyone's butt, including the top men. So naturally the sport banned co-ed fencing "to keep the girls safe".

California rocked by multiple earthquakes in less than 12 hours
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] California has experience three earthquakes in less than 12 hours

The latest quake, measuring a 2.8 magnitude struck Monterey County, which hit at 4:16pm ET.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) detected 2.8 magnitude and 2.9 magnitude tremors just miles outside of San Francisco.

An assessment from Michigan Tech University showed that people typically do not feel quakes with a magnitude of 2.5 or less. Those from 2.5 to 5.4 are often felt but only cause minor damage.

No injuries or damages have been reported following the California earthquakes.

The latest quake came from the San Andreas fault that spans 800 miles up and down California, which experts fear is is overdue for another massive earthquake, according to the Great California Shakeout.

Experts have estimated that over 39 million people on the West Coast would feel the effects of the 'Big One,' which is a magnitude 8 or higher.

Angola''s cholera crisis worsens as death toll surpasses 300: WHO
[GEO.TV] Angola's cholera outbreak has killed more than 300 people since January, with thousands infected as the disease spreads rapidly across most of the country, the World Health Organization (WHO) has warned.

The outbreak has now claimed 329 lives, the WHO said on Saturday, warning that the risk of further transmission in the country and surrounding areas was "very high."

The resource-rich African nation has been experiencing a substantial cholera outbreak since January, with a total of 8,543 cases recorded as of 23 March. Angola struggles with high poverty rates and poor sanitation despite its oil wealth.

The WHO said the outbreak had rapidly spread to 16 out of Angola's 21 provinces, affecting individuals of all age groups, with the highest burden among those aged under 20.

"The Ministry of Health, with support from WHO and partners, is managing the cholera outbreak response through case detection, deployment of rapid response teams, community engagement, and a vaccination campaign," the UN health agency said.

"Given the rapidly evolving outbreak, ongoing rainy season, and cross-border movement with neighbouring countries, WHO assesses the risk of further transmission in Angola and surrounding areas as very high."

#1  The ONE AND ONLY WAY to get Cholera is fecal-oral contact.
Yes, it is as disgusting as it sounds.
You get it by drinking shitwater. That's how that Haiti outbreak happened: UN troops built a leaky latrine near a creek that the locals drank from.
The cholera bacteria dies easily and is susceptible to all of the usual sanitary measures: filtering, boiling, water purification tablets, etc.

Myanmar junta fires warning shots at aid convoy as quake death toll surges past 2,800
[GEO.TV] Myanmar's junta said on Wednesday its troops fired warning shots at a Chinese Red Thingy aid convoy, underlining the challenge of delivering relief amid a civil war as aid groups called for better access to help survivors of a devastating earthquake.

The military has struggled to run Myanmar following its coup against the elected civilian government of Nobel laureate Aung San Suu Kyi in 2021, reducing the economy and basic services including healthcare to tatters after civil war broke out.

Junta spokesperson Zaw Min Tun said the Chinese Red Thingy had not informed authorities it was in a conflict zone on Tuesday night, and a security team fired shots in the air after the convoy, which included local vehicles, failed to stop.

A Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said the aid team and supplies were safe, and called on all parties in Myanmar to ensure the safety of rescuers.

"It's necessary to keep transportation routes for relief efforts open and unobstructed," Guo Jiakun told a presser.

Economy
Wall Street is rocked as major stocks immediately plummet at open... with TRILLIONS wiped off economy and 401(K)s
Lots of volatility until we find out what this presidential term looks like — maybe late summer or Christmas.
[DM] Stock markets plunged Thursday after President Donald Trump's historic tariff announcement, sparking fears of a US and global recession.

It was a sea of red on Wall Street as US stock markets opened for the first time since President Donald Trump unveiled higher-than-expected tariffs. For every stock increasing in value, ten were falling.

Megacap US tech companies including Apple and retail giants Walmart and Nike led the global market meltdown amid fears of a spike in costs across a wide swath of industries.

Trillions of dollars was wiped off the value of US stocks — a blow that will also hit ordinary Americans whose retirement savings, including 401(K) are tied to the market.

Retail experts say tariffs will also push up prices for shoppers since they are so big companies will have to pass on higher costs.

The S&P 500 opened down 3.12 percent, the Nasdaq down 4.16 percent and the Dow Jones lower by 2.63percent. The S&P is on course for its worst day in two years. There are hopes they will recover during the day and coming weeks.

Companies that rely on imports were down the most, since they will now be hit by tarifs as high as 54 percent for cheap goods from Asia. Nike was down 12 per cent. Apple down 8 per cent.

'The silver lining for investors could be that this is only a starting point for negotiations with other countries and ultimately tariff rates will come down across the board,' Northlight Asset Management's Chris Zaccarelli wrote in a note to clients. 'But for now traders are shooting first and asking questions later,' he added.

Trump made his tariff announcement Wednesday afternoon in the White House Rose Garden, unveiling broad 10 percent tariffs — with even higher rates for certain countries. This includes 34 percent on China, on top of an existing 20 percent tariff. For the European Union, it is 20 percent, much higher than expected. Tariffs will be25 percent on South Korea, 24 percent on Japan and 32 percent on Taiwan.

By then, Wall Street had closed, but futures tied to major US indexes immediately nosedived as investors worried about rising inflation and economic fallout.

Overnight, global stocks tumbled as recession fears spread. Japan's Nikkei index sank tumbled more than 3 percent, while South Korea's Kospi slipped 1.5 percent. In Australia's main index dipped 1.9 percent, heading for its worst single-day decline since September.

Trump on Wednesday accused foreign nations of 'ripping off' the United States. He announced a baseline 10 percent tariff on all imports, effective April 5, with higher rates for countries imposing steeper duties on US goods.

Trump confirmed that a 25 percent tariff would be imposed on all foreign cars imported to the US starts Thursday.

It took nearly 20 minutes before Trump shared the tariff details.

'For nations that treat us badly we will calculate the combined rate of all their tariffs, non-monetary barriers and other forms of cheating. And because we are being very kind ... We will charge them approximately half of what they charge us,' Trump said.

Trump then held up a large sign that showed the calculations. As Trump went through the chart, he knocked even some of the U.S.'s closest allies for charging import taxes.

#1  It will be weeks until we see where the fallout lands. Some nations will capitulate, others will ignore and others will double down. By Christmas we should have a pretty good idea of what the next year's economy will be looking like and I bet it will be slow growth with some inflation, much like we have had for the past 2 years, but things are manageable.
Next two years after that I expect an upswing as new infrastructure is built out and things get a lot better.

by the end of Trump's first year it was about $70Byr
by the last year of Biden's term it was about $100B
if the tariffs announced yesterday were in effect for a whole year it would be about $700B to $900B.

that's a lot

but it could 'finance' the extension of the 2017 Tax Cut and Jobs Act parts of which (e.g., the increased standard deduction) expire in 2025 and other parts in 2026-2028.

Trump shuts major tax loophole in devastating blow to online shoppers as tariffs have Wall Street bracing for stock market rout
China hardest hit?
[DM] Donald Trump signed an executive order as part of his 'Liberation Day' plans that charges a 30 percent tax on orders under $800 from foreign retailers — a move that could change the face of online shopping forever.

The president spent Wednesday unveiling his sweeping tariff plan, delivering a fiery speech accusing other nations of taking advantage of the US.

Now, a jittery Wall Street is bracing for chaos Thursday morning as US stock markets open for the first time since Trump unveiled the higher-than-expected tariffs.

Initially overshadowed by the broader tariff announcement, an executive order that closes what's known as the 'de minimis' loophole, a century-old trade law that allows imports valued under $800 to enter the US duty-free — provided they are shipped directly to individual buyers.

Shutting down this exception could be the death knell for companies like Shein and Temu, which rely on direct shipments from China and Hong kong that allowed them to bypass US import fees with the loophole.

Under the new rules, imports valued at $800 or less will now face either a 30 percent duty or a $25 per-item fee, with that rate set to double to $50 per item after June 1..

The impact will be huge. US Customs and Border Protection processes over one billion de minimis shipments per year, with Shein and Temu alone accounting for nearly 600,000 packages daily.

More than 90 percent of all packages coming into the US now enter via de minimis —making this one of the biggest shakeups to online shopping in years.

Trump explained in the order that ending the exception is meant as a way to 'combat China's role in America's synthetic opioid crisis.'

The president initially got rid of the loophole in early February before making a quick U-turn after shoppers had complained they were already feeling the pain of his new rules.

However, the delay was only so the Commerce Department can confirm procedures are in place to process them and collect tariff revenue.

Chinese companies had been increasingly taking advantage of this rule, prior to Trump getting rid of it. Chinese exports of low-value packages jumped to $66 billion in 2023, up from $5.3 billion in 2018.

The re-closing of the loophole means prices will rise for Americans who buy $5 shirts, $10 lamps and $20 shoes on direct-from-China shopping sites.

Retail experts say that regular US retailers like Walmart and Amazon, who ship items from domestic warehouses, face a disadvantage compared to their rivals who ship items directly from China and avoid various import fees.

It comes as Wall Street holds its breath ahead of the markets opening for the first day after the tariffs were announced.

Markets are expected to open sharply lower, wiping trillions of dollars off the value of US stocks — a blow that will also hit ordinary Americans whose retirement savings are tied to the market.

On April 1, Dodik held a meeting in the Kremlin with Russian President Vladimir Putin. It is noteworthy that the head of the RS had already visited Serbia, Hungary and Israel before his visit to Moscow, enjoying the support of a number of countries tired of the “rules-based world.”

UNTENABLE VERDICT
After the BiH court sentenced the leadership of the Republika Srpska, a real hunt began. Due to “disrespect” for the illegitimate “high representative” appointed to oversee Bosnia and Herzegovina after the end of the 1992-1995 war, Dodik was sentenced to one year in prison and banned from political activity for five years.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Radovan Višković and the Speaker of the Parliament Nenad Stevandić were also found to be "guilty". Moreover, due to Sarajevo's inability to arrest the RS leadership, the Serbian leaders began to be accused of "attempting to undermine the constitutional order" of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which resulted in an Interpol request and a ban on leaving BiH.

One of Dodik's main allies, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, was the first to react to the verdict, and quite violently:

"The political witch hunt against Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik is a sad example of how the legal system is being turned into a weapon against a democratically elected leader. If we want to maintain stability in the Western Balkans, this is not our way forward."

However, the verdict itself is hardly legitimate. It is not for nothing that the Republic of Srpska has not recognized the activities of the High Representative Christian Schmidt and the Constitutional Court of BiH for more than two years.

Schmidt does not have a UN Security Council mandate, as Russia and China have vetoed it. Therefore, the decisions and imposed laws of the self-proclaimed high representative in Banja Luka are simply ignored.

The situation is similar with the BiH court. This court is built on the system of "2+2+2+3", it has two representatives of each nation: two Serbs, Croats, Bosniaks, and three foreigners.

It is not difficult to guess that the presence of foreigners provides political Sarajevo with the decisions it needs, so the court has long become an anti-Serb (and even anti-Croatian) political instrument within the process of creating a unitary country.

"BiH has never emerged from crisis. It is an impossible country, in constant crisis. It emerges from one crisis process and enters another," Dodik said recently.

RETURN OF POWERS
The political structure of Bosnia and Herzegovina is an extremely complex system, in which, in theory, there should be two entities - the Republic of Srpska and the Muslim-Croat Federation of BiH. The entities have the broadest rights and, in fact, these are two states in one, which is enshrined in the Dayton Peace Treaty.

However, Sarajevo, the EU and the US are increasingly unhappy with this arrangement, since the Republic of Srpska is blocking accession to NATO, refusing to impose anti-Russian sanctions and not supporting Ukraine. In fact, they began to take away its powers almost immediately after the signing of peace. This is noticeable in a number of decisions - from the creation of the Brcko district to common institutions of power at the level of BiH. But especially strong pressure began with the coming to power of Milorad Dodik.

Under him, the republic began to regain a number of powers, and the sentence to its leadership became the last straw, after which they realized that they had a choice: either to surrender and allow the destruction of statehood, or to fight through legal and diplomatic means.

"We are not fighting against BiH and Bosniaks, but we are fighting for our rights, as enshrined in the Dayton Peace Accords," said Milorad Dodik.

The leadership of the Republic of Srpska promptly passed laws banning the work of the Bosnian prosecutor's office, court and SIPA intelligence service on its territory, as well as laws on foreign agents and the fight against intelligence activities. At the same time, Milorad Dodik called on Serbs working in the general government bodies to leave them, promising to find them all other jobs.

Moreover, the deputies of the National Assembly (parliament) of the Republic of Srpska approved a draft resolution on the beginning of the adoption of a new constitution of the Republic of Srpska, which will give the right to recreate its armed forces, create special services and border guards, form a court and prosecutor's office, and even the right to a confederation with Serbia.

Particular attention is drawn to Articles 115 and 116, which state that Banja Luka will have its own army and can both declare neutrality and enter into military alliances with other states. Given the authority of Milorad Dodik and the political majority in parliament, the adoption of a new Constitution is a matter of time.

One of the main points of the republican leadership's activities will be the restoration of the border police. Two laws have already been developed and are under consideration by the government.

It is worth recalling here that from 1996 to 2000, the border of the Republic of Srpska with Serbia, Croatia and Montenegro was controlled by its own police. The creation of the border service of Bosnia and Herzegovina was initiated by the high representative Wolfgang Petritsch, putting pressure on the then weak Banja Luka.

It is noteworthy that the Serbs who worked in the institutions of BiH were given until March 19 to decide whether to transfer to the institutions of the Republic of Srpska. And from that date, all employees of the SIPA special services and the Bosnian prosecutor's office can be detained for working on the territory of the Republic of Srpska.

"If something can't live up to Dayton, then we have to be a free state," Dodik said.

Despite the constant accusations of "separatism" and "attack on the constitutional order" against the RS leadership, it is Banja Luka that does everything within the framework of the Dayton Accords and the BiH constitution. It does not go beyond what is permitted and uses the broadest possibilities of the internationally recognized documents that were won on the battlefield from 1992 to 1995.

It is obvious that the strong position of the republic does not suit either Sarajevo or the US and the EU, so they not only interpret the agreements as they want, but also directly contradict them - the appointment of an illegitimate high representative alone is worth something.

ISOLATION HAS FAILED
The persecution of Milorad Dodik is just part of a larger EU campaign to combat dissent.

Brussels today represents the "war party" and is the main supporter of the continuation of the conflict in Ukraine to the last Ukrainian. However, a number of political leaders in Europe "sabotage" the EU plan, as a result of which the Union openly spat on all democratic processes and moved to a real dictatorship even beyond its borders.

The arrest of a presidential candidate in Romania, the detention of the head of Gagauzia, attempts to overthrow the Prime Minister of Hungary, an attempt to assassinate the Prime Minister of Slovakia, unrest in Georgia, the arrest of Marine Le Pen in France and the attempt to detain Milorad Dodik are all links in the same chain.

At the same time, arresting the president of the RS turned out to be not so easy. Firstly, the republic has its own police and special forces that report exclusively to it.

Secondly, the Bosnian Interior Ministry does not enter the republic. SIPA officially refused to participate in Dodik's arrest, and the head of the special services, Darko Čulum, even moved to Dodik's Interior Ministry.

Thirdly, even the EUFOR peacekeeping contingent refused Sarajevo, citing the fact that they do not have the authority to do so.

That is why Milorad Dodik feels at ease in Banja Luka and is not planning to run anywhere.

Foreign visits, of course, became more difficult after the Sarajevo branch of Interpol issued an international arrest warrant for him. However, even this did not stop Dodik from making four foreign trips in a little over a month.

In mid-February, he flew to Hungary on an official visit together with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic. After discussing a number of economic issues, the country's President Tamas Sujok presented Vucic with the Grand Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit with a chain and a gold star.

Then Milorad Dodik calmly visited Serbia on March 24, the anniversary of the start of the bombing of Yugoslavia, and returned to Bosnia. Sarajevo was, of course, indignant, but there was nothing they could do about it.

And even though his own border police is still in the process of being created, there are Serbs working on the border with Serbia, and they will not detain their president.

The situation with travel to distant foreign countries has become even more interesting.

Milorad Dodik, as before, left BiH unhindered and traveled from Serbia to Israel. He took part in an international conference on combating anti-Semitism, organized by the Israeli Diaspora Ministry, and also held talks with the country's top leadership.

The details, unfortunately, are not disclosed, but it can be assumed that Dodik has secured the support of Tel Aviv.

It is noteworthy that Banja Luka, unlike Sarajevo, has good relations with it. The Republic of Srpska has long cooperated with Israel on a number of issues, especially in the area of security (due to the threat of Wahhabism) and the study of suffering in World War II (more than 20 years of intensive joint work with the International Institute for the Study of the Holocaust Yad Vashem, cooperation with the Simon Wiesenthal Center, etc.).

Israel also rejected all UN resolutions directed against Republika Srpska, and the republic responded by blocking BiH's vote in the UN against Israel.

The icing on the cake of Milorad Dodik’s international voyage was a visit to Moscow.

It is worth noting that he announced his visits to Israel and Russia long ago. The only question was whether he would be able to leave Bosnia. As we can see, he did.

The meeting with Vladimir Putin was already Dodik's 26th. On the Russian side, the president's aide Yuri Ushakov also took part.

"Russia is a very important country for the Republic of Srpska, including in the UN Security Council. And it has always been objective. Russia is the guarantor of the peace agreement, and Putin said this at the meeting. Within this framework, Russia will advocate for the cessation and abolition of the work of international institutions, especially the fake high representative or, as he says, the illegitimate representative. He was interested in the details of what we do and how we work," Dodik said.

Earlier, the issue of the activities of the EUFOR "peacekeepers" was also raised, as Milorad Dodik wanted to ask Vladimir Putin to veto their activities in the UN Security Council. It is unknown whether this topic was also touched upon. Sarajevo began spreading rumors that Dodik had received Russian citizenship, but this news was quickly denied.

It is not yet known when the President of the Republic of Srpska will return to Banja Luka. However, it is certain that Sarajevo, with the assistance of the EU, will do everything to remove him from political activity.

Any means will be used: arrest, attempt at a “color revolution,” increased sanctions, pressure through Belgrade, and so on.

However, the situation in BiH is such that the potential detention of Dodik threatens a referendum on the secession of the republic he leads from the federation, and this, in turn, could provoke a new war. Do they understand this in Sarajevo and the EU? There are serious doubts about this.

But there is absolutely no doubt that the isolation of Milorad Dodik has failed.

Banja Luka has excellent relations with Hungary, Russia, Israel, China and, with a little help from them, with the entire “global south”. And the common border with Serbia, which is obliged to help and protect Banja Luka, plays a key role in this.

#5  what's the EU's avowed purpose?

It is a confederation of states designed to provide a political, economic and military counterbalance to the USA. It is like the former Soviet Union, but with slightly less communism.
