[Breitbart] A man was shot and killed after fleeing from a United States Border Patrol Immigration Checkpoint in West Texas and opening fire on pursuing officers. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the incident occurred near Kent, Texas, on Interstate 10 on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
An ensuing high-speed pursuit that culminated in a shootout between the driver and law enforcement. The pursuit began when the suspect fled from a Border Patrol Immigration Checkpoint located just outside the remote West Texas city of Sierra Blanca. Border Patrol agents and Texas Highway Patrol troopers were involved in the incident and exchanged gunfire with the subject after being fired upon by the unnamed driver, according to a DPS spokesperson.
The driver was identified late Wednesday afternoon as 33-year-old James Douglas McMillan of Greenfield, Wisconsin. According to DPS, McMillan fled from the checkpoint after a Border Patrol K-9, trained to alert to the odor of humans and narcotics, alerted to the vehicle during an open-air search. During the pursuit, McMillan shot at responding law enforcement officers and civilian vehicles through the window of his vehicle.
Pursuing officers executed a Precision immobilization technique known as a PIT maneuver on the vehicle that ended the pursuit. McMillan barricaded himself in his vehicle according to Texas DPS and raised his firearm, aiming it at officers. At that time, he was shot and killed by law enforcement. There were no other injuries during the incident.
U.S. Representative Tony Gonzales (R-TX) commented on the shooting shortly after the incident was resolved in a post on X, saying, “I have been in contact with the Border Patrol agents on the ground. Agents are safe, and the threat has been neutralized. The Sierra Blanca checkpoint is the 2nd busiest in the United States. We are all grateful to the men and women on the front lines who keep America Safe.”
High-speed flight from a Border Patrol Checkpoint is a felony offense under Title 18 United States Code, which makes it an offense to flee or evade a checkpoint operated by Border Patrol agents or any other federal law enforcement agency and thereafter flee from federal, state, or local law enforcement agents in excess of the legal speed limit. The penalty for a conviction of the offense is a fine and imprisonment for no more than five years, or both.

Troops of 3 Division Nigerian Army have successfully liberated Mansur Village and surrounding settlements in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State as part of the ongoing Operation BUGUN KARKANDA III.
The operation, led by Major General Folusho Oyinlola, General Officer Commanding 3 Division and Commander of Operation ENDURING PEACE, targeted armed terrorists and criminal elements terrorising the local communities.

'When we say more to come, it's more fighter squadrons, it's more capabilities, it's more defensive capabilities, and it's more bomber pulses more frequently', Mr Hegseth said.
After a delay that saw Trump claim that Sir Keir Starmer was 'unhelpful' and is 'no Winston Churchill', the UK is now letting the US use British bases for 'defensive' strikes against missile facilities in Iran.
Experts believe some American bombers could drop the 'Mother of All Bombs', a 10-tonne explosive that creates 1,000ft holes in the ground, taking out tunnels and bunkers while simultaneously pulling infrastructures such as bridges down into the giant crater.
Last night he warned the Iranian soldiers to 'surrender or die' after US raids took out Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and much of his military leadership.
And today central Tehran was hit with one of the biggest explosions of the war so far on Friday.
There were deafening bangs and multiple plumes of smoke and fireballs as a huge payload hit the Moqaddad base of the Revolutionary Guards. Tehran’s famous Azadi Tower can be seen in the centre of a video as the bombs rained down on the Iranian capital.
Debris was thrown across the city centre and some witnesses even claimed have seen bodies thrown up more than 100ft in the air.

The MOAB causes surface-level, wide-area destruction, while the GBU-57 burrows deep into the earth before exploding.
Military experts have said that the 'big one' Trump has warned Iran will use America's most destructive arsenal - and appears imminent.
Sascha Bruchmann, a research fellow for defence at the office of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in Bahrain, told the Daily Telegraph: 'The big one is a sustained bombing campaign via the strategic bomber fleet, so the B-1s, the B-2s and the B-52s.
'Last night, Centcom [US Central Command] said there was one B-1 bomber, and the night before there were four B-2s, who dropped heavier payloads, so 1,000 to 2,000lb bombs with some bunker-busting capabilities against those missile cities.
'Now that there’s air dominance achieved, and we’ve seen US Reaper drones over cities, which you wouldn’t have if there were some kind of air defences'.
Iain Ballantyne, editor of Warships International Fleet Review magazine, told the newspaper: 'The most obvious thing that President Trump may mean by "the big one" is some kind of MOAB – the "Mother of All Bombs".'
He added that these terrifying air attacks would be 'co-ordinated with the US navy unleashing not only the USS Gerald R. Ford but also the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike groups – both Tomahawk [missiles] from their destroyers and air wings – along with possible bombardments by submarines'.
Claims that RAF bases may soon be home to US came after Sir Keir Starmer relaxed access to US Air Force use of British bases.
But he insists that he is right not to have joined the attack on Iran.
Mr Starmer was branded delusional last night after insisting he has got a grip on the Middle East crisis.
At an emergency press conference in Downing Street, the Prime Minister claimed he was delivering ‘calm, level-headed leadership’.

He also faced a growing chorus of criticism from allies in the Middle East over the lack of preparations that has led to Cyprus looking for military support from France, Italy and Spain - rather than Britain - after an RAF base on the island was hit by an Iranian drone.
And, in further farcical scenes, the UK failed to get its first evacuation flight from Oman off the ground, despite other countries having no such issues ferrying their citizens to safety.
Shadow foreign secretary Priti Patel said Sir Keir was in denial, adding: ‘Never in the history of our great nation has a government been so feeble at a time when our people and allies are under assault'.
Sir Keir was stung into a public defence of his actions following days of criticism.
At a hastily arranged press conference, he accused President Trump of plunging the Middle East ‘into chaos’ with his attacks on Iran. He defended his decision to avoid taking any ‘offensive’ action against Tehran even after British bases were targeted.
Sir Keir suggested that the fallout from the conflict could go on for months, with potentially huge impacts on energy bills and the cost of living - and the possibility of a new refugee crisis.
He acknowledged that relatives of the tens of thousands of British citizens trapped in the war zone were ‘were ‘worried sick’ but said a mass evacuation ‘is not going to happen overnight’.
Kemi Badenoch said it was ‘shocking’ that party political considerations appeared to have played a part in determining the government’s response to the US.
Mrs Badenoch said the RAF should now join bombing raids aimed at taking out Iran’s ballistic missile launchers.
Nigel Farage said the government should have supported the US-Israeli attack on Iran ‘from day one’, adding: ‘If this war stops Iran from getting a nuclear bomb, it will have been worth it.’
The Reform UK leader said Sir Keir appeared to have been the victim of a ‘left-wing revolt’ by Mr Miliband which had left Britain ‘humiliated’ on the world stage.
President Trump stepped up his criticism of Sir Keir last night, telling the New York Post: ‘It was very disappointing - his performance, having to do with our tremendous attack on a hostile nation.
‘I was very surprised at Keir. Very disappointed.’
Mr Farage is reported to be off to Florida to meet Donald Trump in Florida.
But Sir Keir insisted that he had been right to refuse a request to allow the initial US bombing raids to be launched from Diego Garcia and RAF Fairford, in Gloucestershire.
The raids killed Iran’s Supreme Leader and dealt a devastating blow to the rogue state’s bid to build a nuclear bomb. But the PM has questioned their legality and suggested Mr Trump did not have a clear plan for once the bombing stops.
‘While the region has been plunged into chaos, my focus is providing calm, level-headed leadership in the national interest,’ he said.
‘That means deploying our military and diplomatic strength to protect our people. And it means having the strength to stand firm by our values and our principles - no matter the pressure to do otherwise.’
Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates are both said to have accused Sir Keir of doing too little to defend British interests and allies in the region. The Spectator magazine reported that senior figures in Jordan are ‘furious’ at the government. And Cyprus’s high commissioner publicly said he was ‘disappointed’ with the UK’s response.
Sir Keir announced that Britain is sending another four Typhoon jets to Qatar.
And defence secretary John Healey visited Cyprus in a bid to mend fences with a country that feels it has become a target for Iran because of the presence of the British base at RAF Akrotiri.
Downing Street rejected suggestions the government failed to have enough military assets in the Middle East after the base was hit. Sir Keir said air defence capabilities had been ‘pre-deployed’ before the US assault began.
Ministers faced more embarrassment after admitting the warship earmarked to defend Britain's Cyprus base might not arrive for a fortnight.
Keir Starmer finally ordered the deployment of HMS Dragon on Tuesday, amid fury that the crucial site had been left vulnerable to Iranian reprisals.
Instead, Greek, Spanish, French and Italian vessels have been covering to intercept missiles and drones in what critics have decried as an 'humiliation' for the UK.
HMS Dragon is still being prepared in dock at Portsmouth, and is not expected to leave until next week.
And Defence Secretary John Healey, who is on Cyprus, suggested that the delay could be even longer.

So now the UK is up to the enormous number of 8 fighters, 4 in Cyprus and 4 in Qatar and it will be a week before they can get a ship geared for air defense to Cyprus. Sad, sad state of affairs. Why did they bother building TWO aircraft carriers when neither seems to be able to deploy to the Med?
I would suggest they prepared to defend against assaults across the North Sea, the English Channel and the Celtic Sea. They have little interest in the Med.

Exactly that happened after the first Jewish revolt (67-70 AD), which resulted in the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem, and the third Jewish revolt (132-136 AD), also called the Bar Kochba Revolt after its leader — who also claimed to be the Messiah, the earthly king of the revived Jewish kingdom and did the usual kingly things: judging, issuing coinage, and leading an army to drive out the Romans. By the time Galilee and Judaea were pacified the second time, the land was practically depopulated: 2/3rds of the Jewish population was dead and almost all the rest sold into slavery or exiled; and beyond the Jewish provinces, Jews throughout the Roman empire were persecuted and forbidden Jewish practices.
So, NN2N1, were you a member of the Jewish elite in Jerusalem then, knowing what the Roman rulers were, and firmly believing that Jesus could not possibly be the Messiah according to Jewish law and prophesy, what would you have done when presented with that scenario? Because it’s clear from the Gospels that while Jesus may have talked about ruling in Heaven, even after he died on the cross his Jewish followers expected him to return momentarily to rule in the earthly Jerusalem.

The captain of a ship of the Iranian Navy has handed his vessel over to the Sri Lankan government, a neutral party, for internment, saving the lives of his crew hours after another Iranian warship was destroyed nearby by the United States Navy.
Sri Lanka (Ceylon) has assumed control of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ship (IRIS) Bushehr, a fleet supply ship (oiler). Sri Lanka has sent craft to receive the 1970s-era ship within its territorial waters and, per local media, has taken off 208 officers and men, who are to be sent ashore. The ship will now be taken by the Sri Lankans to Trincomalee for internment for the duration of hostilities.
The Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said his government had selected the historic port of Trincomalee due to the risk of disruption to maritime traffic by the presence of the inactive warship, so they wished to keep it away from the country’s primary commercial port, Colombo. The Times of India reports Dissanayake said: “we are not taking sides in this conflict, but while maintaining our neutrality we are taking action to save lives.”
Neither Sri Lanka nor Iran have yet officially confirmed that the ship was surrendered by her captain. Yet the ship only arrived in Sri Lankan waters this morning and according to the long-established laws of armed conflict at sea the Bushehr would have been entitled to spend 24 hours in the waters of a neutral country without fear from attack.
The fact the ship has been handed over to the Sri Lankan authorities so quickly strongly suggests the captain took the decision to preserve the life of his men by opting out of the conflict.
Had Sri Lanka not interned the ship within 24 hours, or compelled the Iranians to leave their territory, the United States would have been free to sink the ship, even inside Sri Lankan territorial waters or harbours. The International Red Cross states on this subject:
It is generally accepted that if belligerent forces enter neutral territory and the neutral authority is unable or unwilling to expel or intern them, the adverse party is entitled to undertake their hot pursuit and attack them there. It may even seek compensation from the neutral State for this breach of neutrality. The mere presence of belligerent forces does not justify hot pursuit, there must be some failure by the neutral State to uphold its neutrality.
Under those same laws of war, the cost to the captain and crew is that they too are to be interned in Sri Lanka for the remainder of the conflict. The officers may be given parole, but would not be free to leave the territory of Sri Lanka.
Given the facts as known, this is the first time since the Second World War that a warship has been interned by the government of a neutral power. During the Second World War, several damaged U-Boats were able to limp to neutral harbours and turn themselves over to the authorities after being damaged in attacks, preferring to see out the remainder of the war in captivity rather than the certainty of death at sea.
The internment of the IRIS Bushehr follows by a day the destruction of the Iranian frigate IRIS DENA in international waters to the south of Sri Lanka. The first sinking of an enemy ship by a United States submarine since the Second World War and the first officially acknowledged such sinking anywhere since 1982, the U.S. Department of War published periscope footage of the moment of destruction.

[DM] Israeli generals lulled Iran into a false sense of security in the hours leading up to Ali Khamenei's assassination by leaving their headquarters for fake Shabbat celebrations before sneaking back in disguise, the IDF has revealed.
The new information explains how the Ayatollah felt safe enough to emerge from hiding for a meeting at his palace with top officials.

As the missiles were fired, the IDF simultaneously disrupted around a dozen mobile phone towers near Pasteur Street, making phones appear busy when called and preventing Khamenei's security from receiving possible warnings.
During the strike, senior Iranian national security officials were in another part of the building.
Two high-level military leaders - Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani, and commander of the IRGC Major General Mohammad Pakpour - and Khamenei's daughter, grandchild, daughter-in-law and son-in-law were also obliterated in the Tehran strikes.

On the sixth day of the bloody war in the Middle East, the IDF said that its military campaign against Iran had 'shaken' the country's clerical leadership, adding that it was continuing to 'deepen the damage'.
'The goal of the operation is to inflict severe damage on the Iranian terror regime until it removes the existential threat... And we continue to deepen the damage to the regime,' military spokesman Brigadier General Effie Defrin said in a televised briefing.

As Europe continues to dither on whether to take action in the Middle East, a spokesperson for Iran's foreign ministry warned that the EU would 'pay the price, sooner or later' if it continues to remain silent on the US-Israeli strikes.
Iran's leadership also warned that the US will 'bitterly regret' torpedoing an Iranian warship in the Indian Ocean, while a top cleric called for 'the shedding of Trump's blood.'
The US navy sank an Iranian warship on Tuesday night in the Indian Ocean, killing at least 87 Iranian sailors, which Iranian foreign minister Abbas Araghchi decried as 'an atrocity at sea.'
'Frigate Dena, a guest of India's navy carrying almost 130 sailors, was struck in international waters without warning,' he wrote on social media.
'Mark my words: The US will come to bitterly regret [the] precedent it has set.'
Ayatollah Abdollah Javadi Amoli, in one of the few clerical statements so far from Iran, said the country was 'on the verge of a great test' and called on state television for 'the shedding of Zionist blood, the shedding of Trump's blood'.
'Fight the oppressive America, his blood is on my shoulders,' he said in a rare call for violence from an ayatollah, one of the highest ranks within the clergy of Shiite Islam.
The war has killed more than 1,000 people in Iran, more than 70 in Lebanon and around a dozen in Israel, according to officials in those countries.
It has disrupted the supply of the world's oil and gas, snarled international shipping and stranded hundreds of thousands of travellers in the Middle East.
A drone crashed on Thursday near the airport in Nakhchivan, an Azerbaijan exclave that borders the north of Iran and is separated from the rest of the country by Armenia. Another drone fell near a school and two civilians were injured, Azerbaijan's foreign ministry said.
Iran has not acknowledged targeting Azerbaijan, but its attacks have spread erratically as the war has gone on involving regional countries and beyond.
Qatar evacuated residents near the US embassy in Doha as a temporary precaution and fighter jets could be heard overhead early in the United Arab Emirates city of Dubai.
Saudi Arabia said it destroyed a drone in its province bordering Jordan, and a new attack off the coast of Kuwait appeared to expand the area where commercial shipping was in danger.
An explosion rocked the area early on Thursday, according to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Centre run by the British military.
It said a tanker apparently came under attack, but the agency did not offer a cause. Iran has attacked ships by attaching limpet mines to them in the past.
Prior attacks since fighting began on Saturday have happened in the Gulf of Oman and the Strait of Hormuz, which connects it to the Persian Gulf and through which about a fifth of the world's oil is shipped.
US stocks rebounded on Wednesday after oil prices stopped spiking and reports gave encouraging updates on the American economy.
But oil prices resumed their ascent early on Thursday and Brent crude, the international standard, was up some 15% from the start of the conflict as Iranian attacks have disrupted traffic through the strait.

US forces sent a massive Iranian drone carrier up in flames on Thursday as part of its effort to sink the nation's entire Navy as drones and missiles continued to pound the Middle East.
Dramatic video caught the moment the ship, which US Central Command said was 'roughly the size of a WWII aircraft carrier,' went up in smoke and debris started falling into the water.
'US forces aren't holding back on the mission to sink the entire Iranian Navy,' CENTCOM warned in a post on X.
It came hours after Iran unleashed its 'most intense barrage yet,' with smoke seen billowing above the world-famous Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi and Qatar saying it was intercepting an incoming missile attack as loud blasts, described as 'the most intense yet', reverberated across Doha.
Fireball explosions were also seen rocking an oil facility in Bahrain as Iranian drones target key energy production infrastructure across the region.
Plumes of black smoke have risen over the Saudi capital where US diplomats have been warned to take cover following an Iranian missile attack.
And Azerbaijan has become the latest country to be dragged into war after two drones struck an airport and a school. Iran has denied it fired the weapons.
But as the fighting now continues, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the country will send four additional Typhoon jets to Qatar.
