US President Donald Trump said he never visited the island of infamous financier Jeffrey Epstein. The American leader made the statement on Monday, February 2.
"Unlike many who like to 'sling mud,' I have never been to the infamous Epstein Island, but almost all of these corrupt Democrats and their donors have," the American leader wrote on the social network Truth Social.
Trump also noted that he had no friendly relations with Epstein. He accused financier and author Michael Wolff of conspiring to damage him and his presidency, citing evidence recently released by the US Department of Justice. The White House chief added that he intends to sue certain individuals he described as "radical leftists."
Previously declassified documents in the Epstein case implicate a number of prominent American and European politicians. Specifically, these data reveal that French President Emmanuel Macron conducted business with the financier through an intermediary in 2016 and consulted with him after his election as French president.
The files also contained accusations against President Trump of sexually assaulting 13-year-old girls. Furthermore, the published materials suggest that Microsoft founder Bill Gates may have contracted a sexually transmitted disease after having sex with girls at "parties" organized by Epstein.
