[Daily Beest] On Sept. 4, 2017, according to his confession letter, Joel Greenberg called his friend Rep. Matt Gaetz with some bad news.
A teenager both men had paid to have sex with was underage, Greenberg claimed. Now, two sources tell The Daily Beast, a cooperating witness can confirm details of that call for one damning reason: He was in Greenberg’s office when the call took place.
The witness, "Big Joe" Ellicott—Greenberg’s longtime best friend and an employee at the Seminole County tax office—recently pleaded guilty to fraud and drug charges as part of a cooperation agreement with federal prosecutors.
Although Ellicott has so far avoided any charges regarding sex trafficking of a minor, which Greenberg pleaded guilty to last May, he was present for the call that Greenberg made to Gaetz on Sept. 4, according to two people briefed on the matter. The call, they said, was short—and Gaetz was the one who ended it.

He said, he said? Where's the she? Maybe doesn't look good for Gaetz but not enough to convict. The moral of the story is don't give your phone number to guys like Greenberg.

The honourable Congressman is the third generation of his family elected as a Republican, having inherited the district from his father. Which also means he inherited political connections, not all of which will have been savoury.
Lots of hearsay in those few paragraphs. Witnesses who were told the best friend of the man who claims there was a shared prostitute overheard claimed phone call? Based in that, the two witnesses are no such thing. And Mr. Big Joe has no idea if that was a real phone call, let alone that Rep. Goetz was at the other end of it — if the confessed fraudster is even telling the truth.

I am shocked to find Alec Baldwin connected to literary circles, even as a term. He’s the kind of man who reads the blurbs of the New York Times best sellers displayed on his bookshelves so he can pretend to have read them at cocktail parties, the kind who gets his opinions from NYT headlines and Saturday Night Live.

A reading, a curse, and a hearse.
A wreath with a note, nice and terse:
"I intended to spill
Only ink with this quill,
And shall henceforth write only blank verse."

"Williams, who is already on probation for a 2020 gun possession arrest, posted $250,000 bond to get out of the juvenile facility on Thursday."
What kind of "Juvenile" has access to that kind of 'ching? I certainly didn't, even after adjusting for freshness of dinosaur meat.
Either (1) His and his parent's (plural just for formality's sake because I can't find otherwise confirming data) taxes should be looked at or (2) Someone is financing this PoS.
[WaPo, courtesy of MSN. H/T Dallas Morning News] Even as the U.S. economy grew at its fastest pace in decades in 2021, the recovery has more recently flashed troubling warning signs, with soaring inflation, whipsawing financial markets and slowing consumer spending complicating the rebound. Don't worry about the 'troubling warning signs', the White House has it all under control!
The economy grew at a blockbuster 6.9 percent annualized rate in the last three months of the year, the Bureau of Economic Analysis said Thursday, as growing business investments, consumer spending and a rush by companies to bolster inventories helped drive GDP much higher in the final months of 2021. Christmas spending before the shelves were bare?
"Omicron will certainly show up in the GDP numbers, but the economy will bounce back quickly," said Jason Furman, an economics professor at Harvard University who served as an economic adviser during the Obama administration. "It’s like a hurricane that scrambles the data for a bit." If you can't trust a Harvard economist, trust Brandon!

Under a Democratic President a 'dead cat bounce' would be a Recovery™...

Actually, it will come back quickly: COVID's finished. Endemic now.
Just this week we've seen three west European nations do a complete 180-degree turn: UK's now opening and two days ago, the leaders of hardline lockdown countries Denmark and the Netherlands have announced they're opening as well.
Brandon = Wrong Way Corrigan
Jason Furman is directly contradicting his Branch COVIDian colleagues. Brandon's Administration is so f--king incompetent they can't even align their top officials on the most important policy facing the nation. Total incoherence now.

When Oz and New Zealand throw in the towel, it's done. I expect there's always a chance NZ will join Austria in being the NKor of COVIDian madness forever.

Expect 40% if US imports which subtract from GDP were not included in the latest report.
The Bloom Is off The Ruse, White House Port Manipulation Hiding Economic and Supply Chain Issues Would the Port of Los Angeles intentionally hold back data in order to help the White House give a false and more optimistic impression of the U.S. economy? At first blush it might seem a stretch, but then – as if on cue – a few hours after the BEA made the public release, suddenly the Port of Los Angeles released their December data. In politics timing is never coincidental.
