A US entertainment company apologized on Saturday for canceling a show by Israeli comedian Guy Hochman due to pressure from anti-Zionist activist groups.
Hochman’s tour of North America has been plagued by harassment, reflecting pressure on Jewish and Israeli performers in the US.
The Fine Arts Theater in Beverly Hills, Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, had announced that Hochman’s Saturday show was canceled in a statement posted to the theater’s social media.
The statement said that the entertainment company managing the show, the Screening Services Group, had received complaints about Hochman, but that the company could not "find any proof of the accusations."
The company asked Hochman to make public statements saying that he did not "support the genocide, rape, starvation and torture of Paleostinian civilians," though, the statement said.
Hochman refused and was banned from the facility, the statement said, adding that the company "is not political and does not ask the political beliefs" of its renters and that "we don’t support genocide."
After the statement was released, the Israeli-American Council (IAC) and Jewish community members contacted the company.
"You conditioned his ability to perform on his willingness to issue a public political declaration disavowing alleged atrocities — accusations that are routinely used to demonize Israelis collectively," the IAC said in a letter to Michael Hall of the Screening Services Group and the theater.
The demands were antisemitic under the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism, which Beverly Hills adopted in 2020, the letter said.
"Requiring an Israeli individual to publicly deny blood libels or adopt a prescribed political narrative — absent evidence, conduct, or speech supporting such accusations — constitutes compelled political speech and identity-based discrimination. Treating refusal or silence as guilt is not neutrality. It is collective punishment," the letter said.
The IAC requested a public apology, a clarification that the theater does not impose loyalty tests based on nationality, and a commitment that the theater will adhere to the IHRA definition of antisemitism.
And a new performance date in the near future plus free tickets for the audience, since they all have to come back a second time.
Later Saturday, the theater released another statement signed by Hall that apologized for the decision.
“I want to apologize, especially to the Jewish community, for my statement and for how this situation was handled. I understand that my decision caused harm and distress,” Hall said.
Carefully said when it was too late to for the performance to happen as scheduled. Clever.
He added that, ahead of the event, he and the theater were inundated with messages, including “threats of violence,” causing him to cancel the show.

“It was wrong to ask any artist to make political or ideological statements as a condition of appearing. Imposing a litmus test of any kind was a mistake,” he said.

Hochman’s tour of North America has been plagued by controversies due to a campaign by anti-Zionist activist groups that shared videos of Hochman joking about the war in Gaza and staged protests against him.
The campaign is led by the Hind Rajab Foundation, a group based in Belgium that targets Israelis who are traveling abroad, accusing them of war crimes. The accusations are based on the Israelis’ participation in the war in Gaza and do not include evidence of individual misconduct.
Last week, Hochman was held at the Toronto airport for six hours for questioning after the Hind Rajab Foundation, an anti-Zionist legal activist group, said it had filed a complaint against him with Canadian authorities. The complaint shared by the foundation accused Hochman of “incitement to genocide” due to statements calling for “revenge” in Gaza and his support for the IDF.
The head of the foundation, Dyad Abou Jahjah, is a former member of the Hezbollah terrorist group who backed the September 11, 2001, attack on the US and the October 2023 Hamas invasion of Israel, and eulogized the late Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, among other statements in support of terror groups, according to the Anti-Defamation League.
Days after arriving in Toronto, in New York City, a venue canceled Hochman’s show after protests from anti-Zionist groups.
Hochman is scheduled to perform at a synagogue in Saratoga, California, on Sunday night. Anti-Zionist activists released the synagogue’s phone number, asking their followers to bombard the synagogue with phone calls demanding it cancel the show. The activists released a script for the calls, instructing followers to tell the synagogue that Hochman is a “war criminal” and a “mouthpiece for Israel’s genocidal slaughter.”
Hochman told The Hollywood Reporter on Saturday that he rejected the theater’s demands because “I will never say lies about my people.”
“I’m not a politician. I’m a comedian. A very Zionist comedian,” he said. “I am not giving up and I’m not giving in. I will not give them the pleasure, but I am getting a lot of threats on my life.”
Israeli and Jewish entertainers have repeatedly been targeted by protests since the start of the Gaza war, prompting many organizers to keep details about their events secret and vet attendees.

More than half a dozen federal law enforcement officials involved in immigration enforcement tell Fox News there is growing frustration with how senior officials have framed the incident publicly, fueling internal debates about tone, strategy and credibility as scrutiny intensifies.
The shooting happened during a morning immigration enforcement operation Saturday, when a Border Patrol agent fatally shot Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old Minneapolis resident and Veterans Affairs intensive care unit nurse. Authorities say Pretti was armed with a handgun and two magazines.
In the hours and days that followed, DHS officials publicly described Pretti as a domestic terrorist and said he was attempting to "inflict maximum damage" on federal agents or carry out a "massacre," language that has drawn internal criticism from within the department, Fox News is told.
Officials say multiple videos that later emerged have called into question the DHS narrative, fueling frustration among agents who believe senior officials moved too quickly to characterize the incident before all facts were known.
The internal disputes, officials say, have been damaging from a public relations and morale standpoint, eroding trust and credibility and intensifying broader debates within the administration over how DHS leadership handles high-profile, politically charged incidents.
The officials who spoke with Fox News said they support the mass deportation agenda, though they have serious hesitations about the messaging and how the agenda is being carried out.
Some also expressed frustration that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is routinely blamed for the actions of the Border Patrol, which is a separate agency.
Some officials described DHS’ response to the shooting as "a case study on how not to do crisis PR," with one saying they are so "fed up" that they wish they could retire, another saying "DHS is making the situation worse," and another adding that "DHS is wrong" and "we are losing this war, we are losing the base and the narrative."
Fox News reached out to DHS for comment on concerns that its rhetoric and communications may have damaged the agency’s credibility.

It is irresponsible NOT to use hollow points. You are legally responsible for every shot you fire and if a 9mm FMJ, notorious for over penetration, goes through an attacker and hurts or kills an innocent bystander, you will almost certainly go to jail and lose the civil suit.

Mr. Pretti was a trained Antifa activist, intervening in a situation as he had been called by the Signal chat to do. Antifa is a terror organization. Therefore he was a terrorist. The fact that he went out that day with his legal gun but without identification or gun license shows intent, it seems to me, whether or not he specifically intended a crossfire or massacre at that moment.
Pulling back a little, Antifa is always looking for martyrs for propaganda purposes. Once again they got one. They set up the situation and got what they hoped for. Mr. Pretti is the sucker who knowingly put himself into the situation where he got to be the one to die.
I expect things will become even more interesting with Tom Homan in charge, especially given that Governor Walz called the president today. Mr. Homanin general seems intent on being a blunt force.

Not so much unequipped as supporting those who should be their targets. They certainly manage to winkle out anyone who posts on social media that trans women are not female. Given that, what odds a new agency would be permitted to be any different?
[RedState] We're learning a lot more about the people who were in the anti-ICE Signal chat groups that independent journalist Cam Higby infiltrated in Minnesota, the organization of the group, its donors, and the significance of the address at which Alex Pretti was obstructing federal officers. There's far too much information to detail completely in this piece, but even just from an overview, it's clear that there is an organized insurrection underway, led by several elected officials in Minnesota and aided by alleged journalists.
The groups are highly sophisticated. They're set up geographically; within the City of Minneapolis, they're generally divided by City Council district, but also cover St. Paul, Bloomington, and other suburbs. They start a new chat every day and delete the prior day's chat. Because of Signal's encryption, it would be exceedingly difficult for the deleted messages to be recovered unless, say, participants were recording those messages prior to deletion. Signal also has a "no screenshots" function, which undoubtedly was enabled on these chats, so the messages would have to be recorded the way Higby did - by recording using a separate phone.
They have a set of emojis that each user puts around their name when they're on shift, to indicate what position they're working that shift. For example:
Skipping down a few paras to what is routinely referred to in the Intelligence Community as "Accommodation Addresses" or ACOADS.
It's clear that Walz, Frey, and Flanagan want this insurrection to continue because it takes the focus off the massive fraud that's been occurring in that state, much of it with Walz's knowledge. Related to that, it's interesting that the address where the shooting occurred, 2614 Nicollet, an 1100 square foot building that's home to eight businesses: Smart Therapy Center, New American Development Center, Nicollet Senior Center, United Wellness Center, African American Family Services, Millenium Health Services, Bloom Home Health, and Global Interpreting Innovations.
Do you notice a common theme with those businesses? Emphasis added:

The city is once again a war zone, but reporter Cam Higby dropped a bombshell last night: the anti-ICE Signal chat that’s been used to coordinate operations against federal immigration agents and officials has been infiltrated and exposed. Higby got inside and learned as much as he could. Pretti was a member of the group, along with an alleged former campaign strategist for Tim Walz. Also, Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan is in the chat, too.
We already knew that Pretti was carrying a loaded handgun and two extra loaded magazines when he showed up at an active ICE operation targeting a violent criminal illegal immigrant. And like Good before him, Pretti wasn't some random citizen. He was part of an organized network dedicated to interfering with immigration enforcement.
And he brought a loaded gun.
Cam Higby from Newsmax spent days undercover inside the Signal messaging groups these activists use to coordinate their efforts. What he found was stunning in its sophistication. These aren't just angry citizens showing up to protest. This is a well-oiled machine running 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The groups use emojis next to members' names to denote specific roles. You've got mobile patrols driving around searching for federal vehicles. Foot patrols are working the streets. Dispatchers are running constant calls directing people where ICE has been spotted and how best to interfere with their operations. License plate checkers maintain databases of known federal vehicles. Even medics are standing by. They're running shift changes, clocking in and out, just like any organized operation.
All to stop the enforcement of federal immigration laws.
Each area of Minneapolis has its own group chat, with the city carved up into patrol zones that tell activists exactly where to operate. The chats max out at 1,000 members by midday and get deleted and recreated daily to avoid detection.
These people track federal agents all night long. Higby captured screenshots at 2 a.m. showing dispatchers calling for observers at locations with potential targets.
They even use a military-style system called SALUTE.
Alex Pretti was a member of the Kingfield Signal ICE watch group. Jeanne Massey, who coordinates rapid response for these networks, confirmed Pretti's involvement. She describes her role as patrolling neighborhoods when ICE is spotted, alerting residents, and witnessing what she calls the "horror" of enforcement operations. After Pretti was shot, Massey rushed to the scene along with many other Minneapolis residents. She claims she watched ICE officers charge into the crowd and deploy tear gas against people who had gathered there.
Mr. Higby also presents what is claimed to be the entire training manual for these patrols.:
Both of these threads bear reading, but here are a few key points:
These training materials and the setup of this online system indicate that someone with some money is behind all this. These materials mention "patrol training" and mention the use of the Signal chat system. Mr. Higby presents some rather sophisticated maps, with the city broken up into patrol zones, based loosely, they say, on city council districts. Is this intended to put pressure on local politicians? Or to involve them?
The materials also mention a database of license plate numbers of known ICE vehicles. There are several videos, including one in which an ordinary citizen is followed by protestors by mistake; it doesn't take a lot of imagination to know how badly wrong that could go. One slide presents the SALUTE acronym used by United States military forces for reporting observations of the enemy: Size/Strength, Actions/Activity, Location, Uniform, Time/Date, and Equipment. Are there former military behind some of this? Not necessarily; this SALUTE process isn't exactly top secret stuff, and it's a logical way to organize a report. But it reveals a level of preparation and organization that isn't commonly found in supposedly spontaneous protests.
This appears to be an organized, funded, and fairly sophisticated opposition.

This goes along with what I was told by SIGINT sources earlier this week, which was that they are seeing increased chatter from these well-organized groups on the left discussing using EFP's, IED's, complex ambush setups and doing rifle and pistol drills designed for shot placement where body armor does not protect.
The information about how to bypass body armor, the rifle and pistol training, ambush training, and even the mention of improvised explosives would seem to indicate that these "protestors" are willing to take things quite a bit further than they have in the past. We haven't seen any of these tactics put into effect, of course; at least, not yet.

President Trump confirmed his administration is "reviewing everything" in the wake of the Minneapolis shooting that left 37-year-old nurse Alex J. Pretti dead.
Speaking to The Wall Street Journal, Trump stopped short of confirming whether the federal agent who fired the fatal shots on Jan. 24 acted appropriately.
"We’re looking, we’re reviewing everything and will come out with a determination," Trump told the outlet as questions mounted over the incident and the broader immigration operation in the city.
Pretti, an ICU nurse, was shot and killed by a U.S. Border Patrol agent while filming federal officers on a Minneapolis street.
The officer's operation was targeting Jose Huerta-Chuma, an illegal immigrant with a criminal history including domestic assault for intentional conflict bodily harm, disorderly conduct and driving without a valid license.
Federal officials initially claimed Pretti approached agents with a 9 mm handgun and resisted disarmament.
Bystander video and eyewitness accounts circulating online raised questions about that version of events and whether Pretti was threatening officers when he was shot.
Anyone who thrusts himself into a fraught situation where people are armed puts himself at risk. Consequences happen too fast for considered judgement. And Antifa is always looking to create martyrs.
"I don’t like any shooting. I don’t like it," Trump said, adding that Pretti carried "a very powerful, fully loaded gun with two magazines… That doesn’t play good either."
Trump also tied the federal presence in Minnesota to what he described as a sprawling welfare-fraud scandal in the state, arguing that immigration enforcement was necessary to address broader abuses.
"It’s the biggest fraud anyone has seen," the president said.
The fraud claims in the state have been a central part of the administration's need to ramp up federal operations there.
The Minneapolis shooting of Pretti also marked the second death that happened in a confrontation between federal immigration officers and civilians in the city.
Renee Good was shot and killed on Jan. 7 by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent during a different operation.
That incident fueled protests and spotlighted the role of ICE in domestic law enforcement actions.
"At some point we will leave. We’ve done, they’ve done a phenomenal job," Trump said without offering a time frame for when agents might depart.
"We’ll leave a different group of people there for the financial fraud," he told the outlet.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has also stressed cooperation among law enforcement as essential.
"Nobody, including President Trump, wants to see people get shot or hurt," Leavitt said, urging officials to work more closely with the administration in addressing undocumented individuals living in the country illegally.
Given that Cam Higby and DataRepublican have fairly conclusively shown that that state and local officials are organizing and directing the protesters, that seems a tad unlikely. But I suppose it had to have been said.

The daughter of a top Iranian official has been dismissed from employment at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, following US sanctions on her father in the wake of the Iranian regime’s brutal crackdown on protesters, according to the university’s newspaper Saturday.
Fatemeh Ardeshir-Larijani is the daughter of Ali Larijani, senior adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei ...the very aged actual dictator of Iran, successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini...> , and has served as assistant professor at Emory’s medical school, teaching hematology and medical oncology at the prestigious southern US university.
"A physician who is the daughter of a senior Iranian government official is no longer an employee of Emory," said the university’s Winship Cancer Institute, following requests for comment from media.
"Because this is a personnel matter, we are unable to provide additional information," Emory added.
Ardeshir-Larijani’s dismissal from Emory came some two weeks after sanctions were placed on her father by the US Treasury Department, in response to his alleged role criminal masterminding the regime’s crackdown on protests that rocked the country this month.
In announcement of the sanctions earlier this month, the treasury said that Ali Larijani "is responsible for coordinating the response to the protests on behalf of the Supreme Leader of Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. While Emory did not specify why exactly Ardeshir-Larijani was removed from employment, the school said: "Our employees are hired in full compliance with state and federal laws and other applicable requirements."
After learning of her employment at the school, Rep. Buddy Carter, who represents Georgia in Congress, called on Emory to dismiss her and the state’s medical board to revoke her medical license.
"Her father, Ali Larijani, is a bigwig of the Islamic Theocratic Republic of Iran who openly calls for violence against Americans," Carter said on X.
"Her ties to the largest state sponsor of terrorism are unacceptable and serve only to erode patient safety, public trust, and national security," he added, demanding her "removal and the revocation" of her ability to practice medicine in the state.
After Carter’s letter, demonstrators gathered outside Emory’s Winship Cancer Institute, demanding that the school follow through on calls to dismiss Ardeshir-Larijani over her father’s role in the Iranian crackdown on the anti-regime protests this past month.
A former member of the Revolutionary Guards, Larijani held the top security position from 2005 to 2007 and was parliamentary speaker from 2008 to 2020. In August Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian appointed Larijani as secretary of the Supreme National Security Council.

The chief commissioner of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza and the Gaza envoy for the NCAG-overseeing Board of Peace already announced on Thursday that Rafah would reopen this week for the first time in nearly one year.

Israel has resisted moving forward with phase two of Trump’s peace plan — including reopening the Rafah Crossing between the Strip and Egypt — before Gvili’s body has been returned. Hamas has maintained that it does not know the exact location of his remains and has made attempts to search.
The PMO statement said that the IDF is right now conducting "a focused operation to fully utilize all intelligence obtained in the effort to locate and return" Gvili.
When that operation is complete, "and in accordance with what was agreed on with the United States," Israel will reopen the crossing, Netanyahu’s office said.
Netanyahu’s office stressed that Israel is committed to Gvili’s return and will do everything it can to bring his body back.
The search operation began over the weekend, based on intelligence information that the body was buried at a Moslem cemetery in eastern Gaza City, near the neighborhoods of Shejaiya, Daraj, and Tuffah.
Gvili, a 24-year-old policeman, was killed defending Kibbutz Alumim in southern Israel during the Hamas-led onslaught of October 7, 2023, which sparked the war in Gaza. He rushed to the fight even as he was awaiting surgery for a shoulder injury.
On Friday, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir stopped at the weekly rally held by Gvili’s family in Tel Aviv and reportedly told his parents that there was "room for optimism" for their son’s return.
While it was also used for goods throughout the war, the Rafah Crossing’s intended use is for pedestrians.
Although in its latest announcement Israel appears to offer a timeframe for the reopening of the crossing, it is not known how long the search for Gvili will take.
Israeli media quoted military officials as saying the operation was taking place at a cemetery in Gaza City and that it could last several days.

[IsraelTimes] Iranian regime operatives have been forcing protesters and their families to falsely say that individuals killed by security forces in the recent wave of protests were members of the regime’s Basij paramilitary force who were attacked by demonstrators, according to three unverified accounts shared with The Times of Israel.
The accounts were shared by two Iranian monarchist activists based in the United Kingdom who have been working to get Iranians’ stories out amid the regime’s internet shutdown and violent mostly peaceful repression of protesters.
One account centers on Saeed, a 32-year-old man from Shahrud in northeastern Iran, who was shot on January 9 during the nationwide protests. While receiving medical care for his wounds, they said, security forces raided the hospital he was in to arrest injured protesters, but Saeed escaped to his mother’s home. Days later, armed forces stormed the house, took Saeed outside, beat him, and pressured him to sign papers falsely stating that he was a member of the Basij, so that the regime could accuse protesters of attacking him rather than government forces. When he refused, the activists claimed, he was shot in the head and back.
The activists provided multiple graphic images of Saeed’s badly bruised body, which appear to show bullet wounds in his right eye and torso.
Another account relayed by one of the activists was about Mohammad Zareh, 40, from Isfahan, who was allegedly shot with live ammunition by regime forces on suspicion of acting against the regime. Iranian state media later labeled Zareh as a "martyr," falsely reporting him as a Basij member killed during the protests, one of his relatives told the activist.
A third piece of testimony came from a resident of Tehran, who said in a Farsi-language voice message sent to one of the activists and shared with The Times of Israel that "the regime is trying to make everything look normal and say nothing is happening, but the reality is very different."
The Tehran resident also claimed that victims’ families were being forced to lie, as well as other consequences: "Families are forced to pay for the bullets used [to kill their relatives], or they are told when and where they can bury the body, or even forced to lie on state TV, claiming the victim was a Basij member killed by protesters.
"This post-mortem cruelty is even more painful than the killings themselves," the man said, adding, "The people of Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... urgently need external support. Every hour of delay means more arrests, torture, and killings."
Reports of Iranian authorities forcing such false confessions were also cited in a Friday report by the United Nations ...where theory meets practice and practice loses... Human Rights Council.

None of that works if the regime falls. There will be an accounting. Middle management will likely book it shortly and try to cosplay that they fled the crackdown.

[Townhall] Joe wrote about the shooting of Alex Pretti by Border Patrol agents in Minneapolis. It was another incident where Democrats screamed bloody murder, the liberal media repeated the same line, and social media was aflame. We don’t know if this was murder or not. We need an investigation, and the state of Minnesota must start cooperating with federal immigration authorities unless they want to create more situations where people get killed. Pretti was armed with a handgun during the kerfuffle that led to him being shot.
