[Spin, Strangeness, and Charm] Edmund O. Wilson made academic enemies during his lifetime, particularly colleagues beholden to neo-Marxist dogma, such as Stephen Jay Gould and Richard Lewontin at his own university. As such he was subject to attempts to "cancel" him more than 40 years before the current epidemic of same. (He did not take any of this lying down, and it was a time when old-school liberals still broadly believed in freedom of speech, and an era before academia’s hostile takeover by the administrator class.)
I obviously do not agree with Wilson on everything — notably his notorious statement that religion would have to disappear to save humanity [his views on the subject appear to have vacillated] — but he blazed a new trail in science, beholden to the truth rather than to comforting lies, or lies in the service of G-dless religions in all but name.
Requiescat in pace, and may his memory be a blessing.
[PJ] As COVID cases have surged to unseen levels, despite Joe Biden’s promise to "shut down the virus," there’s been a noticeable shift in the narrative from the Biden administration.
After blaming Trump for the COVID deaths on his watch, the Biden administration is now downplaying the severity of COVID by pointing out the correlation between COVID deaths and comorbidities.
"Is it time to start rethinking how we’re living with this virus, that it’s potentially here to stay?" CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky was asked on Good Morning America.
"The overwhelming number of deaths, over 75 percent, occurred in people who had at least four comorbidities. So really these are people who were unwell to begin with," Walensky replied.
I don’t doubt that Walensky’s data is right, but why is the Biden administration suddenly admitting the link between COVID deaths and comorbidities? The liberal media has for nearly two years been presenting COVID as far more deadly than it really is to most people. In fact, according to a Rasmussen Reports survey from September, Americans who watch the liberal media are likely to overestimate the lethality of COVID by a factor of five. Americans who watch conservative media, however, are more likely to accurately estimate the lethality.

Double Think means you must always believe what they tell you even when it conflicts with what they told you yesterday...even when it conflicts with what they told you less than a minute ago. You must completely forget whatever they in the past if it conflicts with what they're telling you now.

I realize that I am a math major and took a whole year of probability and statistics, hence am able to analyze the CDC data and come to this conclusion a long time ago.
But not everyone in the whole country can be this ignorant, can they?
And woe to the media who have made hysteria generation their whole business model. There is a reason I've watched nothing but the weather report for the last two years.

Similar to Tom, CDC data, about 16 months ago:
79% of deaths were over 65 (I am 73,but survived - probably - Omicron ten days ago)
Average number of commodities was 2.80, across all age groups.
The most common comorbidity was 'all other causes' - which included at least 23 different issues.
Next most common commodities were (2) influenza and pneumonia, (3) respiratory failure, and (4) obesity (except for those over 65, where hypertensive diseases replaced obesity).
I suspect a lot of those numbers are still good.

They knew, Should have been a national call to get in shape, instead they demanded people stay inside.

Say it with me: "Snake Oil." Of course, snake oil was somewhat more harmless, other than to your wallet...

Collapsing now. Jig's up. End is nigh.
Note how Biden moved the SOTU to March 1 - he's delaying so they can unwind their BS Narrative, revise all their data, change their definitions again -- and declare "mission accomplished."
May, not will it seems to me. Because they’ve had this power all along, yet there haven’t been mass round-ups like in Australia.
[thegatewaypundit] The CDC stated on its website (last reviewed Sept. 2021) that to control the spread of disease within their borders, states have laws to enforce the use of isolation and quarantine. The law also includes the use of police power functions in their quarantine stations.
"In addition to serving as medical functions, isolation and quarantine also are "police power" functions, derived from the right of the state to take action affecting individuals for the benefit of society," CDC stated on their website.
More from CDC:
States have police power functions to protect the health, safety, and welfare of persons within their borders. To control the spread of disease within their borders, states have laws to enforce the use of isolation and quarantine. These laws can vary from state to state and can be specific or broad. In some states, local health authorities implement state law. In most states, breaking a quarantine order is a criminal misdemeanor.
Tribes also have police power authority to take actions that promote the health, safety, and welfare of their own tribal members. Tribal health authorities may enforce their own isolation and quarantine laws within tribal lands, if such laws exist.
WHO IS IN CHARGE:
1. The federal government
Acts to prevent the entry of communicable diseases into the United States. Quarantine and isolation may be used at U.S. ports of entry.
Is authorized to take measures to prevent the spread of communicable diseases between states.
May accept state and local assistance in enforcing federal quarantine.
May assist state and local authorities in preventing the spread of communicable diseases.
2. State, local, and tribal authorities
Enforce isolation and quarantine within their borders.
It is possible for federal, state, local, and tribal health authorities to have and use all at the same time separate but coexisting legal quarantine power in certain events. In the event of a conflict, federal law is supreme.
The quarantine stations are located at 20 ports of entry and land-border crossings where most international travelers arrive as stated on the website. It seems like illegal immigrants are exempted in this case.
According to its authority and scope, CDC has the legal authority to detain any person who may have an infectious disease that is specified by the Executive Order to be quarantinable.
CDC may issue a federal isolation or quarantine order if a quarantinable disease is suspected or identified. Federal isolation or quarantine order was last enforced during influenza.
The CDC stated on its website (last reviewed Sept. 2021) that to control the spread of disease within their borders, states have laws to enforce the use of isolation and quarantine. The law also includes the use of police power functions in their quarantine stations.

As stated above, some states, local health authorities implement state law. TGP’s Alicia Powe reported that the Washington State Board of Health may soon amend state law to authorize the involuntary detainment of residents as young as 5 years old in Covid-19 "internment camps" for failing to comply with the state’s experimental vaccine mandate.

Well they have neutered the police. Where will you find them. National guard? All must be approved vaccinated. Many will die from the vaccine or at the least a shortened life span. They talk tough but have no idea what they are doing now. The local warlords will have their say as well. Whatcha you doin here cracker?. I know; use immigrants, since they don't have to be vaccinated.

We can’t even take care of the junkies, psychotics, and misbegotten lining the sidewalks of a dozen American cities, and now we propose to adopt the poorest country in that remote corner of the world? While beating down our own once-productive people, inflating away our savings, taking away our natural liberties to work, move about in a free society, and the right to decide what pharmaceuticals we can decline to put in our bodies?"

[RIA] Events in Kazakhstan have every chance to present a number of surprises for Ukraine as well. The most obvious of them and lying practically on the surface is the deepening energy crisis in the country. Some local pseudo-experts very quickly found the "hand of Moscow " in what is happening in Kazakhstan. And the troubles expected by Ukraine as a result of these events serve as a lethal argument for a significant part of Ukrainian inhabitants, confirming this exotic version. Indeed, through the efforts of propaganda, an absolutely Ukrainian-centric universe has been formed in their heads. Continued on Page 49
[Breitbart] Representative Mo Brooks (R-AL) claimed that the COVID-19 pandemic was a manmade "bioweapon" created by the Communist Chinese during a Saturday appearance on the Fox News Channel.
Brooks, a candidate for U.S. Senate in Alabama, told FNC’s "Fox News Live" that it would be something we would have to "learn to deal with" despite a reluctance to discuss the pandemic by Democrat leaders.
"[T]he bottom line is this — and people need to understand this: This is a bioweapon that was created in the Wuhan bioweapons lab of the Communist Chinese Party, in conjunction with the People’s Liberation Army," he said. "It’s going to be around for a long time, and we have to learn to deal with it. We cannot shut ourselves up, which is one of the policies that unfortunately has done so much damage to our economy at the assistance of Democratic governors, mayors, and to some degree, President Joe Biden. That isn’t going to work."
FNC’s Jacqui Heinrich questioned the merits of Brooks’ claim, adding there was "not any proof" of the claim it was a "bioweapon."
Brooks insisted he had seen proof and doubled down on the claim.
"I have seen enough information — some of it classified, some of it not, some of it consisting of private meetings with someone who worked in that program in Communist China, who was a part of their bioweapons program, telling us what was transpiring. It is a bioweapon. It is manmade, and it was manmade at the Wuhan bioweapons lab. Now, can I say that with a hundred percent certainty? No. But I can say that with a high, high, high degree of confidence, and that’s my belief."

Not enough proof for a conviction but certainly probably cause for a search warrant which should also include all of Dr. Fauxi's files and email. Then there is the fact that CCP denied a full investigation which may not be proof but is suspicious as hell and should be cause for radical changes in our country's China policy.
