[Regnum] Guard Private Viktor Shkuro, wounded in an attack by a Ukrainian Armed Forces FPV drone, refused evacuation and held an enemy stronghold in the Donetsk People's Republic for eight days. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The soldier stopped his own bleeding and refused evacuation. He continued to defend his position.
"For eight days, despite his injury, Viktor Shkuro held his assigned defensive sector, identified and reported enemy movements, adjusted fire from supporting assets, and ensured coordination with neighboring subgroups," the military department explained.
Thanks to Shkuro's actions, the stronghold was held and handed over to the arriving reinforcement subgroup without losing control of the border, the Ministry of Defense added.
Previously, a reconnaissance battalion soldier from the 15th Separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Center group of forces single-handedly destroyed at least 10 Ukrainian Armed Forces sabotage groups in the Dnepropetrovsk sector of the front.
