| Jordanian army withdrew a statement about 'attempted infiltration' after their border guards opened intense fire on Syria |
| 2026-11-01 |
Translated Text: 🇸🇾🇯🇴 The Jordanian army issued and then withdrew a statement about a “attempted infiltration” after their border guards opened intense fire toward children on Syrian territory, near Deraa. According to local sources, the youths (most under 15 years old) were in family farms along the southern border. Jordanian forces reportedly mistook them for an armed group. Syrian security forces intervened urgently to halt the shooting, escorted the children to a safe area, and returned them unharmed to their families. These shots come just days after Jordanian airstrikes on southern Deraa, presented as targeting “terrorist hideouts” fueling the Israeli narrative of an ongoing threat in this area (near the Israeli border). |
