[Regnum] Ugandan citizen Moses Muyurizi has been arrested on charges of murdering 38 people. This was reported on October 29 by the local publication The Monitor.
Republic security forces accused Muyurizi of killing and eating 38 people in the southern districts of Masaka, Ibanda and Kazo between 2010 and 2025.
"I am pleased to inform our citizens that security forces have arrested the villain Moses Muyurizi. He is the worst serial killer and cannibal in Uganda's history," the publication quotes the republic's Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, as saying.
The security official emphasized that Muurizi would be tried and certainly executed. He posted a photo of the handcuffed cannibal on the social media site X.
According to investigators, Muurizi worked as a hitman with accomplices.

Among the most recent confirmed incidents involving a cannibal is the murder of nine members of the Kyebe Church in the Rakai district. A week later, a family was attacked in the village of Kikamleera in the same district. 52-year-old Urita Nabasagi was killed at night in front of her two grandchildren.
Muurizi had been detained several times before, the first time in 2009. Each time, he managed to bribe the police and escape.
In 2026, DNA testing linked executed serial killer Ted Bundy to another crime—the murder of 17-year-old Melissa Ann Smith, which had remained unsolved for over 50 years. The link was established by comparing genetic material with evidence from another of Bundy's victims, Laura Aime. Her murder was solved in April 2026, providing a key to solving the old case. Bundy was executed in the electric chair in Florida in 1989.
