Who's Who in Azov Today
2026-10-24
Long. Herewith the opening paragraphs — also a photo at the link of each of the officers in question, for their files, I suppose:
[xxTomCooperxxSarcastosaurus] Now Hiring (Soviet Experience Not Required): ‘The Azov’-Officers assuming Command of 1,200 Kilometres of Frontline

As mentioned yesterday, since September, two major groups of ZSU are - for all practical purposes - ‘under control of the Azov’ (with emphasis on ‘the’).

Specifically, Drapaty appointed (that is: officially it was Zele)

  • Brigadier General Andriy Biletsky commander of the Group of Forces Centre, and

  • Brigadier General Denis ‘Redis’ Prokopenko commander of the (‘temporary’) Group of Forces Azov.

  • The two are thus in command over quite a concentration of forces, including the 1st Azov Corps (National Guard; CO is Colonel Mykyta ‘Raz-Dva’ Nadtochiy), 3rd Army Corps, 7th Rapid Response Corps, 9th Army Corps, 11th Army Corps, and 19th Army Corps…

Now mind: alone the sector covered by Biletsky’s 3rd, 11th, and 19th Corps stretches from Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi in Kharkiv Oblast, down to Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk. As another example, Prokopenko’s 1st Azov Corps is presently including the 12th SF Azov Brigade (CO Lt Col Bohdan ‘Puhach’ Hryshenkov), 1st Bureviy Presidential Brigade; 8th Harmash Artillery Brigade; 14th Chervona Kalyna Brigade; 15th Kara Dag Brigade; 20th Lubart Brigade; 41st Pilum Unmanned Systems Regiment, 52nd Forge International Assault Regiment… and the 425th Skelia Assault Regiment.

While turning down the offer to become the Commander of the Ground Forces, ZSU, Biletsky began his new job by reshuffling the command of his forces. The 3rd Army Corps is now commanded by Dmytro Rohoziuk (former CO 60th Mechanised Brigade); the CO 11th Army Corps is now Emil Ishkulov (former XO 7th Rapid Reaction Corps), while Valerii Skred (former chief of staff 7th Corps) took over the 19th Corps.

Prokopenko…well, didn’t really assume command over a new force. Actually, his 1st Azov Corps was expanded through the addition of a division-sized 425th Skelia Assault Regiment to create something like a ‘specialised task force’, tasked with reinforcing the frontline, integrating drone warfare and stopping the Russian advance into the rest of the Donetsk (‘division-sized’ because, as explained again and again over the last year, Syrskyi was stuffing all the reinforcements he could get into ‘his own Assault Troops’). Correspondingly, he handed over the command of the 1st Azov Corps to his trusted deputy (Col Mykyta Nadtochiy) and brought his chief-of-staff 1st Azov Corps (Col Arsen ‘Lemko’ Dmytryk) to serve as the chief-of-staff of his new position.
