Qatar Could Bring A Serious New Capability To Saudi Arabia’s Fight Against The Houthis

If Qatar decides to join Saudi Arabia militarily against Yemen’s Iran backed Houthi proxies, I think even a limited deployment could make a big difference.

Look at what Qatar has.

Qatar has 48 F-15QAs, 36 Rafales and 24 Eurofighter Typhoons, 12 Mirage-2000-5 backed by 8 C-17 strategic transport aircraft and 4 C-130J Super Hercules for moving troops, weapons, equipment and supplies.

Now imagine Qatar sending just two squadrons of Rafales and F-15QAs to Saudi Arabia.

That would be a serious addition.

Saudi Arabia already has F-15s, Eurofighter Typhoons and Tornados, while Pakistan has deployed JF-17s and Turkey and Egypt are also moving toward military support for Saudi Arabia.

Adding Qatar’s advanced Rafales and F-15QAs would give Saudi Arabia even more strike capacity, air superiority, precision weapons and flexibility.
And Qatar’s C-17s and C-130Js could help keep the whole force supplied and moving.

Qatar doesn’t even need to deploy its entire air force. Two squadrons alone could add a significant punch.

If Doha actually decides to re enter the fight, this could become a very different airpower equation for the Houthis.
