| Le Pen Gains as France Riots Fuel Immigration Debate | |

| [NewMax] French nationalist leader Marine Le Pen could emerge as the biggest political beneficiary of violent riots sweeping France, as a new survey shows nearly half of the country's Muslims would consider leaving if she wins the presidency in 2027. An IFOP survey published by French weekly Marianne found that 46% of Muslim respondents would contemplate emigrating if Le Pen, leader of the National Rally party, becomes president, The Organizer reported. France has an estimated 7 million Muslims, and Le Pen has campaigned on sharply reducing immigration, strengthening border security, and enforcing the country's secularism laws.
Some protesters have waved Palestinian flags, while rioters have torched historic buildings, attacked civilians, and looted businesses, according to the Washington Examiner. Le Pen, already leading presidential preference polls with approximately 34% support, has blamed the violence on what she calls "Macronist toxic policies" and accused far-left leader Jean-Luc Melenchon's allies of "legitimizing violence." She urged French citizens to "hold out for a few more months," promising to end "decades of anarchic immigration." Tsiporah Fried, a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute, told the Washington Examiner that the unrest could significantly strengthen Le Pen's presidential prospects. "I would say that she is seizing the moment because everything else will be forgotten [...] because this question of order becomes the priority," Fried said. Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu announced mandatory curfews Monday in affected areas, pledging that the government was "absolutely determined to restore order."
