More about this story from yesterday.
[North Press] Two Iranian nationals appeared before a London court on Saturday, accused of preparing terrorist acts allegedly targeting the Jewish community in Manchester, northern England, according to British prosecutors.

Rahman Salehi, 35, and Salam Ahmadyan, 36, were charged with preparing to commit an act of terrorism or assisting another person to commit such an act, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said.

The charges relate to alleged conduct carried out on or before September 20, the eve of Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, according to the CPS.

At Westminster Magistrates’ Court, prosecutor Mark Luckett said the two men were accused of conducting what prosecutors described as “hostile” surveillance of potential targets in Manchester.

The alleged targets included the Manchester Jewish Museum and the Heaton Park synagogue, Reuters reported, citing the prosecution.
We knew about the synagogue, but the museum is new.
“Both defendants are accused of preparing acts of terrorism targeting the Jewish community in Manchester through the use of a homemade explosive device,” Luckett told the court, according to Reuters.

Prosecutors allege the men were acting in coordination with a third Iranian national believed to be based in Iran. They also allege that the planned device could have been made using chlorine and brake fluid.
New also is details about the device.
Salehi and Ahmadyan were arrested on September 20. According to Reuters, both men entered the UK from Europe in small boats. Salehi was granted asylum in 2020, while Ahmadyan’s asylum application remains pending.
And the specifics of their asylum status.
The defendants did not enter pleas during Saturday’s hearing and were remanded in custody. They are due to appear at the Old Bailey in London on October 23, Reuters reported.
