They’ve decided to admit that he’s dead after all?

[IranWire] Two informed sources told IranWire that upon reaching an agreement with the United States and following the end of military engagements with the U.S. and Israel, a new Supreme Leader will be selected for the Islamic Republic.

These two sources, who maintain close ties with various factions inside the Islamic Republic regime, stated in exclusive interviews with IranWire that both political leaders across different factions and numerous Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commanders believe that continuing Mojtaba Khamenei’s leadership, purportedly assisted by artificial intelligence, is unsustainable and actively weakens the system.

According to one IranWire source in contact with grand ayatollahs’ offices (Beyt) in Qom: “Praise be to God, there is no shortage in the system of just, pious theologians aware of their time, who are courageous, capable managers and strategists (the core constitutional requirements for leadership). His Eminence Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, for certain reasons, most likely physical, is unable to perform all duties. For this reason, high-ranking country officials are waiting for conditions to calm and the war to end, at which point one or a group of those esteemed theologians will assume Velayat (guardianship). Naturally, those figures will continue to benefit from the views and experience of His Eminence Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei (may God protect him).”

According to this source, numerous members of the Assembly of Experts also support the selection of a new Supreme Leader.

Another IranWire source, who served in the IRGC for years, believes that recent demonstrations against former President Hassan Rouhani and recent activities by the “Janfada Campaign” (Puyesh-e Janfada) are aimed at preventing the selection of a new leader and retaining Mojtaba Khamenei: “Certain groups in the country, particularly individuals in the IRGC and Basij and those with overt or covert economic ties to these two institutions, see their present and future solely in the continuation of hostility and war. The absence of a strong leader is a blessing for them that they want to exploit as much as possible.”
