Five artillery shells struck the area near Kodana Dam, according to a North Press correspondent. The shells were fired from Israeli military positions at Tal al-Ahmar to the west, the correspondent said.
No confirmed information was immediately available on casualties or material damage.
The shelling comes amid repeated Israeli military activity in southern Syria, particularly in Quneitra and Daraa governorates, including incursions, searches, arrests, checkpoint construction and artillery fire. Recent reports have documented Israeli shelling and ground movements in several areas of Quneitra.
Breqa and Kodana have previously witnessed Israeli military activity. On Sept. 13, an Israeli military patrol entered the Rasm al-Hayadira area near Kodana, according to the Hawar News Agency, which reported that no casualties or material damage were recorded at the time.
