| Nigeria: Troops foil kidnapping attempt, rescue six family members in Zamfara |

| By Zagazola Makama Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have foiled an attempted abduction and rescued six members of a family in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State. Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the troops responded swiftly to actionable intelligence on an ongoing attack by armed terrorists targeting the family. The troops immediately mobilised to the location and engaged the terrorists with superior firepower, forcing them to abandon their mission and flee the area. The intervention enabled the troops to safely rescue all six victims unharmed. The rescued family members were relocated to a secure facility for preliminary assessment and care, while arrangements are underway to reunite them safely with their relatives. The operation highlights the continued efforts by troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to respond to distress calls and prevent terrorists and other criminal elements from abducting innocent residents in the North-West.
