[Hungarian Conservative] Nigerian American Professor of Second Language Acquisition Uju Anya at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has caused outrage with a post she shared on the social media site X on Friday, 11 September—the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks.
Since then, she has deleted her entire X account, not just the post itself. However, screenshots of her outrageous statement have been saved and circulated on the site. The professor wrote: ’Die first, white man, then ask yourself why I’m dancing.’
Carnegie Mellon University has announced that it is reviewing the post following the massive online backlash and described their professor’s words as ’threatening and hostile’.
According ot the Nigerian news site Leadership.ng, Anya has decided to go on ’voluntary leave’ while the investigation into her online conduct is carried out by the university.
This is not the first time Uju Anya has made outrageous statements on social media—and it typically involves the death of white people.
In 2022, upon hearing the news of the imminent death of Queen Elizabeth II of England, she wrote: ’I heard the chief monarch of a thieving, raping, genocidal empire is finally dying. May her pain be excruciating.’
Similarly, she celebrated the death of conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh in 2021.
While Uju Anya’s X account has now been deleted, the cached version of its bio is still visible through a Google search. In it, the controversial professor described herself as an anarchist and a feminist.
