Text: Repentant BHT/ISWAP member surrenders with AK-47, IED to troops in Borno By Zagazola Makama A 22-year-old member of the Boko Haram/Islamic State West Africa Province (BHT/ISWAP) has surrendered to troops of the 29 Task Force Brigade in Benisheikh, Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State. The terrorist, identified as Musa Babagoni, reportedly surrendered on Sept. 13, 2026, after escaping from the group on Sept. 11. According to security sources, Babagoni surrendered in an operation conducted by troops in collaboration with Forest Guards. Items recovered from him included an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, magazines, a hand grenade, a locally fabricated improvised explosive device (IED), a magazine pouch and a bicycle.
