[Regnum] Germany will transfer to Ukraine a batch of PAC-2 surface-to-air guided missiles, used in the Patriot air defense systems. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced this at a meeting of the NATO Contact Group on Ukraine on September 8.
"I have decided to urgently supply [Ukraine] with additional PAC-2 interceptor missiles," Reuters quoted Pistorius as saying.
The German Defense Minister added that Germany will also increase the supply of AIM-9 air-to-air missiles to Ukraine. The number of missiles was not specified.
Earlier, Kyiv's leader, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, announced that Ukraine had received a shipment of Patriot missiles, but immediately complained about a shortage. Zelenskyy did not specify which country had sent the missiles to Kyiv. He had previously complained about the long wait times for air defense missile deliveries.
