[Regnum] Russian troops have completed the encirclement of an enemy group in the northeastern Kharkiv region. The Ministry of Defense press service reported this on September 7.
Units and military units of the Russian Armed Forces' North group, advancing in converging directions, linked up north of the village of Prikolotne and completed the encirclement of the enemy. A group comprising six Ukrainian Armed Forces battalions and four Ukrainian border detachment command posts, totaling approximately 1,700 personnel, is encircled in an area covering over 460 square kilometers.
During the offensive operations of the Russian Armed Forces, the enemy has already lost over 2,500 personnel and dozens of pieces of equipment. Twenty-three Ukrainian soldiers have been captured. The encirclement area is sealed off, all logistics routes have been cut off, and the enemy is unable to withdraw its units or deliver ammunition and supplies to them, the Ministry of Defense noted. Attempts by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to relieve the encirclement are being thwarted.
Eliminating this "cauldron" will push the line of contact with the enemy back more than 20 kilometers from the border areas of the Belgorod Region. Russian troops are calling on Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers to surrender. All those who voluntarily lay down their arms are guaranteed life and treatment in accordance with international humanitarian law and Russian law; all others will be killed, the Ministry of Defense emphasized.
