The rebels’ media said the attacks targeted Houthi positions across the Arabian Peninsula’s poorest country, which is divided between areas held by the Iran-backed group and those controlled by the Saudi-backed, internationally recognized government.

Saba news agency, which is affiliated with the Houthi movement, reported seven people were killed by Saudi airstrikes on the prison in al-Hazm in the north of Yemen, including one child visiting the facility. Seven others were maimed in the strikes on the prison, the agency added, citing the health ministry in the Houthi-held Yemeni capital of Sanaa. Footage shared by the rebel group of what they described as the damage to the prison located in Jawf province showed smoke rising from the blast site as rescue workers picked through rubble.

Earlier, Saba reported, "the Saudi enemy targeted the provinces of Jawf, al-Bayda, Marib and Taiz with several airstrikes and cruise missiles."

Days of fighting near the Red Sea coast have left more than 300 people dead and displaced hundreds of families as the Houthis try to capture land bordering the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.

Further footage shared by the Houthis showed what they said was the aftermath of a missile strike by the group on trucks carrying military equipment from Saudi Arabia to al-Wadiah military camp in Yemen’s Hadramawt province.

The UN’s special envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, warned in a statement on Monday that the Houthi assault had "triggered increasingly intense festivities, threatening to further expand the conflict."

"A return to sustained large-scale fighting will carry grave consequences for civilians and make an already difficult path toward a political settlement even harder," he added.

Military sources within government forces also reported the air raids and missile attacks to AFP. But Saudi Arabia did not announce any such strikes. Most of the strikes were in al-Bayda and Marib, targeting strategic positions, gatherings, and camps under Houthi control, the sources said on condition of anonymity.

Saudi strike on Al-Jawf prison kills five
Five people, including a child, have been killed in a Saudi airstrike on the Central Correctional Facility in Al-Hazm district, Al-Jawf province, as rescue teams continue searching for dozens of people trapped under the rubble.

Sources told Al-Masirah that Saudi enemy warplanes carried out several raids on the facility on Monday afternoon, causing casualties among inmates. Initial reports indicated that a number of prisoners were killed or wounded in the attack.

The director of the correctional facility told Al-Masirah that rescuers had recovered the body of a child and two wounded people, while 35 inmates and a woman visiting her husband remained trapped beneath the rubble.

He added that several wounded people had been transferred to hospitals, while rescue operations were continuing to search for survivors and recover those trapped under the debris.

Later in the evening, Al-Masirah’s correspondent in Al-Jawf reported that five martyrs, including a child, had arrived at Al-Hazm Hospital following the Saudi enemy’s attack, which targeted inmates, staff and visitors at the facility.

The massacre came less than an hour after Saudi enemy warplanes targeted a home in Maqbanah district, Taiz province, injuring a mother and her three daughters.

Yemeni forces repel Saudi-backed attack in Al-Bayda
Yemeni Armed Forces on Monday repelled Saudi-backed forces attempting to advance on the Dhi Na’im area of Al-Bayda province, a military source told Yemen’s official Saba news agency.

The source said that the Saudi-backed forces suffered heavy losses in personnel and equipment, while reinforcements sent to support them were also targeted.

Yemeni forces shoot down Saudi CH-4 drone over Al-Jawf
The Yemeni Armed Forces said Monday they shot down a Saudi-operated CH-4 medium-altitude, long-endurance drone over Khab wa al-Sha’af district in al-Jawf governorate, marking another such interception in recent months.

Yemeni military spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e said the drone was conducting what he described as hostile operations in Yemeni airspace before being downed with an “appropriate weapon.”

This is the second aircraft of this type to be downed in the past 12 hours and the fourth in the past 24 hours, according to Sare’e.

The Chinese-made CH-4 is a combat and reconnaissance drone capable of carrying guided munitions and has been used by the Saudi-led coalition since its war on Yemen began in 2015.

Saudi Arabia launches fresh airstrikes, cruise missile attacks on Yemen
Saudi Arabia launched new airstrikes and targeted several Yemeni provinces with cruise missiles on Monday evening, Almasirah reported, citing security sources.

According to the security sources, Saudi forces renewed strikes against the provinces of Jawf, Bayda, Ma’rib, and Taiz, utilizing both airstrikes and cruise missiles.

The sources added that the same provinces had been targeted earlier in the day by a similar series of airstrikes and missile strikes.

Yemeni air defenses down third Saudi drone in less than 24 hours
The Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Monday the downing of an armed reconnaissance drone belonging to the Saudi enemy—a “Wing Loong 2” model—while it was conducting hostile missions over Al-Bayda province.

According to the Armed Forces spokesman, the downing came during Yemeni air defenses’ engagement with hostile activities in the province’s airspace. The drone was reportedly carrying out offensive tasks before being intercepted and shot down.

The aircraft downed over Al-Bayda today is the third drone that Yemeni forces have successfully shot down within a period of less than 24 hours—a development that underscores the continued air confrontation and the growing capability of Yemeni air defenses to counter enemy aircraft.
