[ColonelCassad] Putin's talks with Witkoff and Kushner. June 5, 2026 From the statements made:
- The request to stop the strikes on Kiev came through official channels; - Putin stated that no strikes on Kiev had been launched since midnight today;
- Russia did not agree with Ukraine on a broader three-day ceasefire, which was announced in Kiev, Vladimir Putin said;
- Putin stated that the Ukrainian side had significantly reduced the number of attacks;
- Trump does not stop in his attempts to contribute to the settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict;
- Putin said at a meeting with Witkoff and Kushner that contacts of this kind are always beneficial;
- Putin emphasized that Witkoff and Kushner will go to Kiev after Moscow; - The Russian leader said that Moscow is comfortable working with Witkoff and Kushner.
- The Russian Federation will do everything in its power to ensure the security of the negotiations and mediators in the persons of Witkoff and Kushner, Putin said.
The main points of Whitcoff's statements:
- Whitcoff called his communication with Putin one of the best and most memorable experiences for him;
- He thanked Putin for the meeting;
- Whitcoff conveyed the Gilman family's gratitude to Putin for his release, and the president responded that Trump should be thanked;
- Whitcoff conveyed Trump's best wishes to Putin.
The Russian Armed Forces also continued to strike Ukraine throughout the night. Kyiv has not yet been touched during the announced pause, but attacks continued on the Kyiv region.
As before, local pauses change little in the overall course of hostilities. Moreover, yesterday Putin and Co. once again made it clear that Russia is not interested in temporary ceasefires at all.
Only a lasting peace that eliminates the root causes of the conflict. Therefore, unlike the Minsk agreements, military operations and the diplomatic process are parallel. So far, there has been no obvious progress related to ending the war.
