[Regnum] On August 27, the keel of the new Russian Project 677 diesel-electric submarine Maloyaroslavets was laid in Saint Petersburg. The keel-laying ceremony took place at the Admiralty Shipyards of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC).
During the ceremony, Nikolai Patrushev, Aide to the President of the Russian Federation and Head of the Maritime Collegium, expressed confidence that the highly professional team of the Admiralty Shipyards will cope with the task at hand.
"I am confident that the highly professional team at Admiralty Shipyards, with its extensive experience in building surface ships and submarines, will, in collaboration with the teams at the cooperative's enterprises, successfully complete the task," Patrushev said.
The Maloyaroslavets submarine will be the fifth ship of the Project No. 677 Lada series and the sixth order, being built at the Admiralty Shipyards according to the design of the Rubin Design Bureau.

The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) delivered a new batch of Su-35S aircraft to the Russian military. The corporation's press service reported this on August 27.
The press service noted that the aircraft had completed a full cycle of factory testing, were tested by Russian Defense Ministry pilots in various operating modes, and completed a flight from Komsomolsk-on-Amur to their home airfield.
A Su-35S pilot of the Russian Aerospace Forces noted that a new batch of aircraft had been received as part of the fulfillment of the targets set by the Russian Ministry of Defense to provide troop groups with weapons and equipment to meet the missions they were performing.
"The Su-35S is a maneuverable, multirole fighter. This aircraft operates flawlessly, and the crew finds it comfortable to operate. We use this aircraft to perform a variety of missions: intercepting airborne targets at long range, providing cover for strike groups and ground targets, destroying unmanned aerial vehicles, and delivering precision strikes against ground and surface targets with precision weapons. We also conduct reconnaissance and uncover enemy positions at significant depths from the line of contact," the pilot stated.
The Su-35S is designed to achieve air superiority and destroy ground infrastructure located at a significant distance from its base, UAC stated on its Telegram channel.
