[Regnum] The US Navy has cleared all mines in the Strait of Hormuz. US President Donald Trump made this statement on August 25.
"The US Navy just informed me that all mines have been removed or detonated in international waters in the Strait of Hormuz," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
He added that Iran had received a warning that any ship laying new mines would be immediately destroyed.
Earlier, US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that American forces had redirected 70 commercial vessels since the resumption of the naval blockade of Iran. Three more vessels were disabled, and two were inspected.
On August 15, the head of the Islamic Republic's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abbas Araghchi, stated that Iran is not yet ready to resume negotiations with the United States, and the issue of opening the Strait of Hormuz remains unresolved.
On August 16, The Wall Street Journal, citing sources, reported that intelligence services in several Arab countries have learned of Iran's preparations to escalate its war against the United States and Israel. It is noted that Tehran's primary goal is to inflict damage on the enemy that will permanently prevent a repeat of the attacks of past conflicts.
