[Regnum] The Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) Space Forces successfully launched the Soyuz-2.1b medium-class launch vehicle from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome in the Arkhangelsk Region. The Russian Ministry of Defense press service reported this on August 24.
The launch took place at 5:40 AM Moscow time from the Russian Ministry of Defense's State Test Cosmodrome. A Russian Aerospace Forces combat crew deployed the rocket carrying the spacecraft, which was launched on behalf of the military.
Earlier, the Angara-1.2 light launch vehicle carrying military satellites launched from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome. The launch was carried out by a combat crew of the Space Forces. The rocket successfully lifted off from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome at 11:29 AM Moscow time.
Previously, a rocket carrying spacecraft for the Ministry of Defense had successfully launched on April 17. The Soyuz-2.1b medium-class launch vehicle was launched from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome at 2:17 AM Moscow time. The spacecraft were inserted into their target orbit on schedule. A stable telemetry link was established with them, and the onboard systems were functioning normally.
