The epicenter of the tremors was located 35 km north of the city of Coracora, the capital of the province of Parinacochas.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre ( EMSC ), the earthquake had a magnitude of 6.7 and originated at a depth of 70 km. The epicenter was located in central Peru, approximately 175 km northeast of Ayacucho and 40 km northeast of Tambo.
Earlier, two powerful earthquakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude, struck northern Venezuela on the evening of June 24. The natural disaster caused widespread destruction, prompting the country to declare a state of emergency. According to the latest data, the death toll has reached at least 6,438.
