[Regnum] Over 550 Ukrainian fixed-wing UAVs were shot down overnight over 19 Russian regions and the waters of the Azov and Black Seas. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported this on the morning of August 14.
Air defense forces repelled attacks from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM Moscow time and neutralized 553 drones, the department said in a statement on MAX.
Enemy drones were intercepted and destroyed over the Novgorod, Kursk, Bryansk, Belgorod, Kaluga, Smolensk, Tver, Pskov, Oryol, Tula, Lipetsk, Kostroma, Ryazan, Rostov, and Leningrad regions. Air defense systems were also active in the Moscow region, Krasnodar and Stavropol territories, and Crimea.
Authorities in several regions reported on the aftermath of the airstrike. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, in particular, clarified that 10 drones were shot down as they approached the capital. Leningrad Region Governor Alexander Drozdenko reported that 51 enemy drones had been intercepted. A fire that broke out at the port of Ust-Luga as a result of the attack has been extinguished; there were no casualties.
In the Kalininsky District of the Tver Region, debris from a downed drone damaged the wall of a Wildberries warehouse. The resulting smoke was quickly extinguished, and no one was injured.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have recently intensified attacks on civilian targets in Russian regions. Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that Kyiv regime forces are deliberately targeting civilians, attempting to destroy civilian objects and vehicles, including ambulances and agricultural machinery. The head of state described Kyiv's methods and those of its mercenaries as terrorist.
