Text: Troops Repel Militia Attack, One killed, Rescue Gunshot Victim in Riyom By Zagazola Makama Troops of Sector 6, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), have repelled an attack by unidentified militias on residents of Agwan Wereng Village in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State. A military source told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 9:30 p.m. on August 11, 2026, when troops responded to a report of an attack on locals by armed militias in the community. The troops swiftly intervened, forcing the attackers to withdraw from the area. The troops subsequently combed the community and surrounding areas, where they discovered the lifeless body of a resident identified as Mr Bulus Mwagwong.
