[Regnum] Air defense assets shot down 605 Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) drones over Russian regions overnight, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on August 6.
"During the past night, from 8:00 p.m. Moscow time on August 5 to 8:00 a.m. Moscow time on August 6, air defense forces on duty intercepted and destroyed 605 Ukrainian aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles," the department clarified.
Drones were shot down over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Vladimir, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Oryol, Rostov, Ryazan, Smolensk, Tambov, Tver, Tula, and Yaroslavl regions. Drones were also intercepted over the Moscow region, Krasnodar Krai, Crimea, and the waters of the Azov and Black Seas.
That same night, air defense forces shot down 88 Ukrainian drones over the Yaroslavl region, marking the largest attack on the region. Windows were blown out in several apartment buildings, a private home was burned, and damage to private vehicles was reported. There were no casualties.
Also overnight, air defense systems shot down six Ukrainian Armed Forces drones that were flying toward Moscow.
