[Regnum] A bear attacked a jogger and his dog in a US park while they were jogging. This was reported on August 4 by The Cool Down.
A man and his dog were out for a morning jog on the Aspen Loop Trail in Henry Lake State Park in Idaho when they were suddenly attacked by a bear. The bear injured the man, but he was able to escape the scene and call for help. The man's dog was unharmed.
The victim was taken to the hospital and given medical assistance.
"Search teams surveyed the park's trails and surrounding areas from the ground and using a drone provided by the sheriff's office. They located the attack site but found no bears nearby," the report clarified.
Because the incident was unexpected and there were no signs of bears remaining in the area, officials said no further action was planned at this time.
Earlier in Canada, a woman chased away a bear that had attacked her with her piercing screams. The woman was walking her dog along a forested road when the bear suddenly appeared and began approaching. The dog attempted to chase the bear away, but during the initial attack, it became frightened and pressed itself against its owner. The woman, unfazed, began backing away from the bear, shouting at it to leave. When the grizzly attempted to charge or rear up, the woman lunged forward and shouted. Eventually, the bear retreated into the forest.
