[Regnum] The most powerful solar flare since July 7 occurred. This was reported on July 22 by the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The flare was recorded at 9:35 AM Moscow time amid an increase in the star's daily activity. Scientists believe the surge in activity is localized and associated with the random occurrence of an isolated group of sunspots. Global solar activity remains low.
"The Sun experienced its most powerful flare in two weeks," the laboratory reported on its Telegram channel.
On July 7, the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences announced the end of one of the strongest solar activity outbursts of 2026. It followed a mild scenario, with only two flares receiving the maximum rating.
