[REGNUM.RU] More than 150 graves of Soviet soldiers were desecrated at a cemetery in Utrecht, the Netherlands. This was reported on July 10 by Remco Reiding, head of the Soviet Field of Glory Foundation.
Vandalism was committed at a cemetery in the eponymous memorial complex "Soviet Field of Glory" near the city of Leusden.
"We learned of the vandalism this morning. So, presumably, the vandals did it overnight. More than 150 graves were desecrated," Reiding told TASS.
According to him, vandals used red paint to paint graffiti on the gravestones.
Vandals previously desecrated a monument to Soviet liberator soldiers in the town of Karlovka in Ukraine's Poltava region.
Previously, unknown individuals desecrated a Soviet soldiers' memorial cemetery in Warsaw. Offensive graffiti were spray-painted on the monument's pedestal, and the entrance to the memorial was blocked with crosses and Ukrainian flags.

"The Dutch authorities are calling what happened the work of some 'vandals.' Well, we'll tell you who these vandals are. To paraphrase Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky: 'You, sir, are the vandals.' Because it was you, the Western governments, who, for decades, created the atmosphere in which such crimes became possible," Zakharova wrote on Telegram.
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized that it was the ruling circles of European states that, for decades, deliberately shaped the public atmosphere that made such cynical actions possible. According to Zakharova, the collective West has long nurtured far-right ideas in Ukraine while simultaneously encouraging the development of neo-Nazi cells within its own borders.
"We will not forget this latest crime and will not allow it to be silenced. Our embassy in the Netherlands will provide a comment," the diplomat noted.
In May, vandals desecrated a Soviet military cemetery at the Central Cemetery in Vienna. The gravestones of Soviet soldiers who died fighting to liberate Austria from Nazism were damaged. The Russian Embassy in Austria stated that such criminal acts cannot be considered "hooliganism" or an accident.
President Vladimir Putin noted that many countries deliberately encourage Nazism and Russophobia, attempting to distort the USSR's role in the victory over fascism. The head of state has repeatedly emphasized the importance of combating the falsification of history and the glorification of Nazism.
