[REGNUM.RU] The Russian Ministry of Defense has received a batch of new Su-30SM2 multirole fighters and Su-34 fighter-bombers. This was reported on July 9 by the press service of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), part of the Rostec state corporation.
The aircraft have completed the entire cycle of ground and flight factory tests and have been sent to their duty stations.
"The super-maneuverable multirole Su-30SM2 aircraft are among the most modern combat aircraft in the Russian Armed Forces," UAC quotes a Su-30SM2 pilot as saying.
The Su-30SM2 is a modernized version of the Su-30SM multirole fighter, equipped with new AL-41F-1S engines, improved avionics, and updated weapons. The fighter boasts high performance and outstanding maneuverability. Its radar system allows the crew to accurately engage a wide range of ground, air, and sea targets without entering enemy air defense range.
The Su-34 fighter-bomber is designed to engage ground (surface) and airborne targets, as well as infrastructure protected by air defense systems and located at significant distances from its home airfield. The aircraft can also be used for aerial reconnaissance.
"The Su-34 aircraft has proven itself in the special military operation zone. It's an excellent aircraft system with significant potential for the future, boasting a wide range of weapons and the ability to employ advanced weapons to achieve its objectives," said a Russian Aerospace Forces Su-34 pilot.
