WATCH | The Strait of Hormuz is not simply back open and it is not showing a verified Iranian-route monopoly either.

The more important development is the emergence of a pressured dual-corridor regime.

The southern Omani corridor remains active. The northern Iranian-controlled route is still being used. That matters because both Washington and Tehran can now point to the same traffic picture and claim different victories.

For the US and its partners, the message is that Hormuz can still function without accepting Iranian control over transit.
