Text: The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on Sunday regained control of Abu Qumra in North Darfur, according to footage geolocated by Sudan War Monitor, which placed RSF fighters at coordinates 14°19'19.16"N 23°24'20.18"E. The footage was filmed at virtually the same location where members of the Joint Force—a coalition of former Darfur rebel groups fighting alongside the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF)—recorded themselves after capturing the town days earlier. The Joint Force's brief seizure of Abu Qumra came shortly after the militia launched an attack on Um Baru locality to the north. In a maneuver characteristic of Darfur's fluid desert warfare, Joint Force fighters outflanked RSF positions by advancing from Jebel Moon in West Darfur and entering Abu Qumra from an unexpected direction.
