[REGNUM.RU] All of the UK's nuclear-powered attack submarines are at anchor, and none are on patrol at sea. This was reported on June 27 by the UK Defence Journal (UKDJ) after reviewing publicly available data.

It is noted that this situation is not unprecedented; most of the fleet spends significantly more time at berth than at sea.
The UK Ministry of Defence declined to comment on the state of the submarine fleet, but indicated that the country's territory is protected by other means.
In December 2025, the British government announced that London had allocated £6 billion to develop nuclear submarine construction infrastructure. Britain had expressed its intention to build up to 12 new SSN-AUKUS-class nuclear attack submarines. The investment was intended to modernize infrastructure in Barrow and Derby and launch one new submarine every 18 months.
