The anti-Houthi coalition appears to be stepping up its preparations. New footage shows Brigadier General Ahmed Ali al-Damani, better known by his nom de guerre “Abu Qusay,” commander of the 3rd Brigade, 1st Division of the Nation’s Shield Forces @diralwatan, leading a military convoy in Lawdar District, Abyan Governorate. Earlier this year, the brigade was redeployed from the Al Abr area of Hadramawt.
The brigade has established positions in the Akad area east of Lawdar and is expected to take responsibility for securing central Abyan alongside the 4th Brigade of the 3rd Division, which has been deployed in the area for some time.
The deployment reinforces anti-Houthi positions in Abyan, which borders Houthi-controlled Al Bayda Governorate, and could point to increased military preparations along this front.
