[REGNUM.RU] The situation with countering drone attacks will improve, and the authorities are paying close attention to it. This was stated by Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu to journalists on June 23 following his visit to India.
"A lot of work is underway to counter and create new systems to counter unmanned aerial vehicles in the new frontiers. The head of state, the Ministry of Defense, governors, and industry are devoting significant attention to this. Therefore, I hope that as new projects and new systems are implemented, the situation will naturally improve," he noted, answering questions following his visit to India.
Shoigu added that this is a complex issue, but active work is underway in all areas by all ministries without exception.
On June 23, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to take additional measures to minimize the impact of Ukrainian Armed Forces strikes on Russian infrastructure. He emphasized that, as the situation rapidly deteriorates, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have adopted the tactic of targeting Russian civilian targets.
Earlier that day, Putin stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were attacking civilian targets in Russia to destabilize society. He added that Ukraine and the West were relying on terror against civilians to weaken Russian morale, but that these attempts were doomed to failure.
On June 23, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov stated that the Russian Armed Forces are actively integrating artificial intelligence, robotics, and control systems. He emphasized that the development of high-tech technologies is a key priority for the Ministry of Defense.
