[Regnum] A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck off the coast of the Greek island of Crete on June 20, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre reported
The earthquake's epicenter was 108 km northwest of Heraklion. Its source was at a depth of 13 km.
There were no reports of casualties or damage, and no tsunami threat was issued.
The day before, on June 19, a series of earthquakes occurred in the Pacific Ocean off the eastern coast of Kamchatka. Over ten tremors were recorded off the peninsula's coast within an hour, with magnitudes ranging from 3.6 to 6.9. Most of the epicenters were located 140–180 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. There were no reports of casualties or damage.
In May, Greek media reported that fans of the American band Metallica caused microseismic tremors during a concert in Athens. More than 80,000 people attended the concert. The Athens Geodynamic Institute recorded small tremors. Experts explained that these tremors, known as concert tremors, are caused by the coordinated movements of the crowd at the event.
