"The deaths in Starobelsk and Yenakiyevo are only a small part of the atrocities committed by the Kyiv regime's militants, who daily attack civilian targets in the border area, launch targeted strikes against residential buildings, educational and medical institutions, and hunt down civilians," Nebenzya clarified.
Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN previously stated that Kyiv had shown no signs of readiness to move forward on conflict resolution and indicated that the negotiation process was at an impasse. Nebenzya noted that Kyiv is not ready for negotiations and intends to continue military action, meaning that Ukraine will soon face new conditions for a peaceful settlement.

Russia demands that UN Secretary-General António Guterres resolutely condemn the crimes committed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Starobilsk and Yenakiyeve. This was stated by Vasily Nebenzya, Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN.
"We demand that the UN Secretary-General strongly condemn the crimes committed by militants of the [Kyiv head] regime of Volodymyr Zelensky against civilians in Starobilsk and Yenakiyeve," Nebenzya noted at a Security Council meeting.
He also stated that the hushing up of the crimes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the avoidance of assessing them, and attempts to replace them with vague formulations actually encourage a policy of terror against the civilian population.
On the night of June 3, a Ukrainian drone attacked a bus in Yenakiyeve, DPR. The strike was so powerful that it damaged nearby residential buildings. Eight people were killed and 12 more were injured.
On the night of May 22, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the pedagogical college and dormitory in Starobilsk in three waves using 16 drones. As a result, 21 students, aged 18 to 21, were killed and 65 others were injured.
On June 4, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova, speaking at a briefing about each dead student and showing their photographs, broke down in tears. She also noted that the inaction of Western representatives and their brazen lies regarding the cold-blooded murder of children in Starobilsk are no longer surprising.
Human Rights Council Chairman Valery Fadeyev appealed to the UN demanding that the Ukrainian Armed Forces' attack on the college be recognized as a war crime. He added that it would be naive to expect any serious responses on this issue from Western representatives currently waging war against Russia.
