[Regnum] A powerful G3-class magnetic storm will hit Earth on Tuesday, June 9. This was reported by specialists from the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Scientists estimate the magnetic storm will reach magnitude six to seven. Unstable cosmic conditions will persist throughout the day. Experts expect peak readings in the morning and midday, with the geomagnetic background gradually stabilizing towards the end of the day.
The solar activity level is estimated at 1.7 units, which is close to class G2 (moderate storm). However, isolated outbursts, during which activity could reach class G3, are possible, according to the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences website.
Scientists advise people sensitive to weather changes to pay special attention to their health. During such periods, they advise minimizing physical exhaustion, avoiding psycho-emotional stress, and ensuring the body has sufficient amounts of clean water.
On June 5, a plasma cloud from solar flares reached Earth. According to the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a second and third cloud later reached Earth. They caused a moderate magnetic storm that ended on the night of June 6.
