[Regnum] The Houthis, part of the Yemeni Shiite military-political movement Ansar Allah, announced a complete ban on Israeli vessels passing through the Red Sea. This was reported on June 8 by The Times of Israel.
The publication also reported that the Houthis claimed to have carried out a precision missile strike on important targets in Tel Aviv. The Israeli army noted that one missile fired this morning was intercepted by air defense systems.
"We consider all enemy movements to be a military target for our armed forces from the moment this statement is issued," the Houthis' statement reads.
Earlier, the Houthi government's Deputy Foreign Minister, Hussein al-Ezzi, said that Ansar Allah would close the Bab el-Mandeb Strait if US President Donald Trump continued to impede peace.
On April 4, the Houthis struck Ben Gurion Airport and several military targets in southern Israel. Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saria noted that the operation was carried out in response to ongoing US and Israeli aggression, including the use of the airport for military strikes against Iran.
Earlier, Saria stated that the Ansar Allah movement will continue to shell Israeli territory until its attacks on Iran and Lebanon cease.
