Text: Troops Exploit Flashpoints After Reported Boko Haram–ISWAP Clash in Borno, Recover Explosives By: Zagazola Makama Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have conducted a fighting patrol and exploitation operation across several communities in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State following intelligence reports of a clash between rival Boko Haram factions and ISWAP elements. Security sources disclosed that the operation was launched on June 1 to exploit intelligence on suspected fighting between the terrorist groups and to deny them freedom of movement across identified flashpoints. According to the sources, troops moved through several locations, including Alagarno, Baale, Maisaimari, Yadimari and Shiwari communities, with mapped coordinates forming part of the operational sweep. The sources said all the communities visited were found completely deserted, with no visible civilian presence during the patrol. More at the link |
