According to his data, disturbances in the geomagnetic field at high latitudes also continue.
"On May 29 at 10:22 Moscow time, an M1.2 flare lasting 24 minutes was recorded in the X-ray range in the sunspot group 4455 (N13E66),” the institution’s website states.
The Institute noted that the last strong flare (M2.4) was recorded on May 22. It was accompanied by an ejection of plasma toward Earth.
On May 19, the Solar Orbiter spacecraft detected three high-level X-ray flares at a supersunspot activity center on the far side of the Sun. They partially disrupted and simplified the sunspot cluster in which they originated.
On May 15, a magnetic storm hit the Earth. Initially, its intensity was G2, classified as moderate. Afterward, its strength began to wane.
On May 10, a powerful M5.7-class flare occurred in a new active region of the Sun. The Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences clarified that the plasma released by the flare will not impact Earth, but two days later, this group of sunspots will enter the planet's zone of influence.
